Sitting Up

I think Lucy has the strongest tummy muscles of any of my babies at this point. She is just one bound and determined little girl to go somewhere fast. Today I REALLY needed to go to the bathroom but Lucy was being kind of needy. So, I buckled her in her bouncy seat in my bathroom so she would be nearby. I was only in the restroom for about a minute and came out to Lucy completely sitting up in her bouncer. Alex was sitting on the floor next to her just laughing. I guess we will not be using the bouncy seat anymore.

Mommy and Lu visit the Arboretum

Today was the last day of Dollar Days at the Dallas Arboretum. I figured why not enjoy the beautiful day with my little sunshine. We had a fabulous time. It was so pretty and breezy. Lucy and I watched the damselflies, the squirrels, the waterfalls, and all the people go by. I even saw a skink. Lucy never saw it though. There was a  nice bench in the shade in the mist gardens that I was able to nurse her on,

to make sure she stayed nice and happy, which she did. Lucy loved the sounds of the water and the misters in the mist garden. She wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken, unless I was in it with her. So, we took selfies. I really enjoyed this one on one time with her. 😊

All tuckered out.

Claustrophobia

Lucy just does not like church. She is fine for the first 30-45minutes (at least that gets us through Sacrament), but after that, she is done. She doesn’t like how the halls fill up with people and all the craziness of it. She usually screams the rest of the time we are there. Today was no exception. I am convinced she is claustrophobic because this happens anywhere there is a lot of people. She just wants to be in her quiet house, with her own toys, and her own space. 😊

No Pic Today

Yes, Lu is asleep and I did not get a single picture of her today. She had a FABULOUS day though! She woke up at 6, went back to sleep at 9, and slept until 12:45. She took 2 more good naps this afternoon and was very happy in between. Hoping this lasts. For now, I am off to bed, and going to enjoy my little snuggler.

Sleep

Ahh! Sleep! Lucy slept from 10:30-6:00 last night. Not exactly what I consider sleeping through the night, but close enough. If she wouldn’t have been woken up by a barking dog when I laid her in bed around 9:45, maybe she would have gone longer. 😉 I am so glad she is finally getting the rest she needs.

Little Bit of Lucy Singing

I don’t want to forget what I think is one of the sweetest baby moments ever! Tonight, I was giving Lucy her bath. When I was finished, I laid her on her towel on the floor and wrapped her up like a burrito. She was just smiling away, so I started singing to her. Of course it was some goofy concoction of a song that I made up as I went. I added some Lu-Lu-Lus and La-La-Las, and next thing I know, Lucy is Lu-Luing! It was SO sweet! I couldn’t believe she was doing it for real, so I sang again to her after a bit of a freak out with her. (Asking her, “Lucy, were you really singing with Mommy?! Great job! Singing is great!”) She did it AGAIN! when I paused my singing! I really think she is going to be very involved in music. Just a hunch. 😉 Most adorable thing ever! If only moment like this could be captured to remember forever! Just envisioning the sweetness of her face when she did it melts my heart.

Oh Happy Day!

Today was a fabulous day! Lucy only woke up once last night. (I feel like a new human being! 😉) We did not give Lucy any reflux medication at all. What a difference! I met with a friend of mine that distributes essential oils and she put together some blends for me to try with Lucy. We’ll be going to the chiropractor next week too, to hopefully help us avoid having to do any more medication for her. I am hoping it helps. I hate seeing my baby girl having such a hard time. I want her to be her happy self more often than not, not vice versa.

Precious sleeping girl. Can’t wait to finally get the AC fixed so she can nap upstairs during the day! For now, it is just too hot!   Smiling with the angels.

“Maybe I can get this whole thing in my mouth.”

Good Moments with a Laughing Video

With Lucy napping a lot today, her awake times were much happier. I got to see the sweet side of her, which I absolutely adore  , instead of the really sad, painful, or exhausted side we have been seeing lately. Today, she discovered her feet again. It is so funny to watch them look at their appendages, like they never knew they were there before, with such amazement. We also got an amazing, almost to the point of belly laugh, laugh from her today. She just thought sitting up and lying back down was so funny. I LOVE this stage!

Done with Prevacid

So Lucy hardly slept last night. She was so restless and just wanted me to hold her almost the entire night. When 5:00am came around, she was wide awake and ready to get up.😳 I felt like a zombie. I cannot imagine what poor Lucy felt like.  Sam brought her downstairs while I tried to wake up. She was fine for a little bit, then Natalie put her in her swing. She slept until 11:00am! By not giving her the Prevacid, she took 4 naps today! The shortest was 45mins long! We will not be trying the Prevacid again! Tomorrow I am calling a chiropractor. It is worth a try.

Prevacid Day 2

Oh My Goodness! If this is what Prevacid is like, we might do better going off everything completely! Today was day 2 of the Prevacid. We had a horrible time giving Lucy her medicine this morning. She cried and cried. We never had that issue with the Ranitidine. I think she actually looked forward to medicine time each day. Well not now! It is like we are torturing her. We are trying to figure out if the Prevacid is also keeping her awake. Lucy woke up at 6am this morning, and would not go down for a nap until 2:00 this afternoon, and it was only for 40 mins. She might not be able to close her eyes, but I can’t keep mine open. 😕 I am hoping she will at least sleep okay tonight. We’ll see as the medication makes it through her system. I have never had this issue with anyone else.
