Silly Bathtime Girl

Lucy cracks me up! I really think she is going to have the funniest personality as she gets older. She always wants to go, go, go! She also does some of the silliest things, and smiles/giggles about them. At 3 months old, I am convinced she is doing it intentionally. Like tonight, she was getting her bath. She LOVES bathtime. Next thing I know, she has kicked her feet out of the tub, over the edge, and was just giggling about it. It was so funny and cute. She is such a sweetie!

Playing Dress-Up

While the kids are away at school, I have lots of one on one time with Lucy. Since she is still small, we have lots of time for dress up…😊

 …Blowing Raspberries…   …Tummy Time…

…Bubbles…  …And Then Sleep.

Starting Prevacid

I really thought we might be okay with having Lucy off her reflux medication. Yeah, not really. πŸ˜• She seemed to do fine the first couple of days, especially where sleeping was concerned. She actually started sleeping at night and during the day. On Sunday, however, she was really getting stiff again and nursing aggressively. She also had several periods of hard crying, that seemed like she was hurting. Yesterday was not a good day at all. She only wanted to comfort nurse. (Not good for a reflux baby.) A lot of her spit up was very curdled and very acidic/stinky. I could tell the acid was building back up again. I don’t want her to be in pain for the sake of being off medication. She truly needs it. So, this morning we started her on the Prevacid. It didn’t go very well because we are trying to use the over the counter capsules first. You have to cut it open, stir the little balls in water, and attempt to suck them up in a medicine dropper. Trying to get them to come out with the water in Lucy’s mouth is not easy. They get stuck in the end of the dropper. I resorted to scooping them with my finger into her mouth, in the process making her very mad, and then washing them down with a little water in the medicine dropper. We’ll see how it goes. There is a $50 difference between this way verses getting her her prescription for the solutabs. I really wish the pharmaceutical companies would be a little more reasonable with this! Come on! I really do not think it costs $500 more to put a $15 medication into a solutab. They really know how to stick it to you. πŸ˜• I hope this works for Lucy. She is such an amazing baby, and so smiley and social when her tummy is cooperating. I hate that my babies have had to suffer with this. I just hope she outgrows it soon and does not continue to have issues with it for her life like her sister.

Savor

There are dishes to be washed, floors to be vacuumed, boxes to be   unloaded, walls to be painted, bathrooms to be cleaned, etc… etc… etc…But I am going to sit here and savor your sweetness while you snuggle in my arms. These moments don’t last very long at all!

Khaliyah and Curls

So Khaliyah really wants to be fur mommy to Lucy. After a very traumatic lick to the face the other day, Lucy has not even wanted her to get close. Today, Lucy gave Khaliyah a little more trust.

Maybe Lucy will have curly hair like her sisters. When she is sweaty, her little fuzz seems to curl. 😊

Coming off of RanitidineΒ

We are trying to see how taking Lucy off her Ranitidine will go. We really think it is the reason she has not been sleeping. Kind of scary, but we will see. So far, she has missed 3 doses and is happy. Today, she has already taken 3 naps. She only woke up once last night too.
