Lookin’ Good in Yellow

Today Lucy has had a horrible tummy day! She has spit up so many times I have lost count. I cannot figure out why either. She does not seem to be sick. No fever. Her spit up does not smell acidic like vomit would smell. She just has not kept much down. We will definitely be calling the doc tomorrow. I think it is time for a medication switch.  Hopefully it will help. I was able to get some sweet moments in today. No matter how fussy Lucy can get at times, these moments are priceless!

Making the Best of Our Time with Brie

Brianna is getting ready to leave for BYU this weekend. We are trying to do some fun activities before she does, but with Lucy in tow, we are limited. It is also a blazing inferno in North Texas right now. Over 100 almost everyday this week. Today we went to Ripley’s and the Wax Museum. Overall, Lucy did pretty well. She just does not like small enclosed areas. I brought her Ergobaby today, and was so excited to find out she is finally big enough for it! She fell asleep in it about halfway through, and slept the rest of the time we were there. Score! 😊

Talent Night with the Greens

Today we finished our last American Girls Club meeting for the summer. Lucy hung out with Daphne, and slept for most of the last half. I don’t think Daphne minded at all. πŸ˜‰ Tonight, the Greens hosted a Talent Show for Family Home Evening. It was a blast! We have some very talented kids! I really hope Lucy enjoys music the way the rest of us do.

Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa’s

I realized today how few pictures I have with Lucy and other people. I am going to try and make sure I am not always taking pictures just when she is by herself. Today we celebrated Miller’s 5th birthday and Brie’s last Sunday dinner with the whole family before she goes off to BYU. We had a great time, and Lucy got lots of cuddles.

Lucy still thought she was nursing while she was sleeping.

The Birthday Boy! Sure love this guy! He is such a good boy.

Sweet Sleepy Moments

Lucy is so tired tonight because her sleep has been all out of whack due to her reflux medication. I just love it though because she is nursing, but keeps coming off to look me in the face and make sure I am there before going back to nursing. She looks at me with this big toothless grin. It’s SO cute! ☺️ I wish I could take a picture but it is too dark.

Happy Wonderful 3 Months Lucy!Β

Today Lucy is 3 months old! It is so hard to believe that time has gone by so fast already. Lucy is an absolute joy to us all. She smiles so much and talks away. It is so cute. We still have moments of hard crying, but they have improved since we put her on her reflux medication a couple weeks ago. I am hoping that as she starts to sit on her own, it will improve greatly. For now, we cuddle and love on her crying or not. We still have not heard Lucy laugh yet. She squeals a lot, but no giggling. Lucy is so strong. She can scoot herself from one end of our bed to the other very quickly, so we have to be there with her if she is sleeping in our bed. She has also rolled over both directions now, back to tummy & tummy to back. We all laugh because Lucy very rarely gets set down. When she does though, she lets us know she is not staying there for long. She still loves her Piano Guys Jurrasic Park. She also loves her dragonfly chime in her car seat and her toucan on her activity gym. She likes to kick them or hit them to make them make their sound. Lucy also loves her hands! She often tries to fit both in her mouth at once. Sometimes we wonder if she is teething, she gnaws and drools so much. No teeth yet though.

Happy 3 Months Lulu! We love you so much!

Fuzzy Head

Just had to show this picture of Lucy’s fuzzy little head. She has very little hair on top of her head, but what is there is pretty fuzzy. So funny!

Kind of a funny angle of the camera. Makes her face looK a little distorted, but shows her little hairs pretty well. ❀️

Trip to the Perot Museum (Keep your advice to yourself!)

Today I decided to take the kids to the Perot Museum. Everyone but Nate came. He wanted to stay home and work on his school assignments. When we got there, Lucy was asleep. We bought our tickets and started off in the Amazing Animals exhibit. As soon as we entered the exhibit hall, Lucy woke up. This was not a good wake up though. She looked around, looked at me, stuck out her lower lip, then started screaming. She seemed terrified! I felt so bad for her. I think it was a mix of sensory over stimulation and claustrophobia. She kept screaming, so I told the kids I would wait for them outside. As soon as Lucy and I made it to the hallway, she calmed down and was fine. We walked through some other exhibits, then Lucy fell asleep. She slept for about an hour and a half, which allowed us to sit down and get lunch. Towards the end of lunch, Lucy woke up. She was not a happy camper. Again, we were in a tightly packed area with people and loud noises. I urged the kids to hurry finishing their food and to clean up the table. Lucy was screaming pretty loud by this point. Next thing I know, there is a lady in front of me asking me if I am okay. I assured her that everything was fine. However, that was not good enough for her. She kept going on asking me if my baby was okay, if I had help, if I had Enough help. Then, she started into telling me about schedules and about “The Happiest Baby on the Block” book. Really?!?!! What would have been more helpful would have been for her to leave us alone and let us finish cleaning up our mess so we could get out of the cafeteria. Lucy was hungry by that point, but with 4 other kids in tow, she was going to have to wait a bit until we could get where I could nurse her plus keep an eye on the other kids while having them be entertained. Being the youngest of 6 kids sometimes requires patience, even when it isn’t the easiest to wait. After we managed to escape the lady and her parenting advice, Brie was just laughing. Now she is getting to see first hand what I keep telling her. So many people feel that they can parent your child better. Once we got to the earth exhibit, I nursed Lucy while the kids rode the earthquake ride a few times. After that Lucy slept for another 2 hours, then woke up happy to play. She was a great baby, and we all had fun. If I could offer advice to others, it would be: If you see a mom with a crying baby either mind your own business and let her handle things (because she most likely knows what she is doing and knows how to get her baby to stop) or if you feel inclined to do something, ask her how you can help her so she can go take care of her baby. If she declines the help, be on your way.   One very neglected baby that “needs help.” πŸ˜‰
