4 Month Check-up

Some little lady is happy. No shots today. With Lucy’s response to her 2 month vaccines, her pediatrician is redoing her vaccine schedule. He didn’t have individual shots in the office today, so he is ordering Lucy some and will administer them at her 6 month check-up. I am so glad. We are finally getting her happy and stable. I hated the thought of shifting her with something else again. I love our pediatrician! He is fabulous!

 Sleeping with happy dreams. 😊

Lucy Kisses

So absolutely precious! Nothing is better than when your baby connects to doing something really sweet and does it over and over again. Tonight, Lucy learned how to give kisses. I would kiss Lucy on her cheek, and then tell her to give me a kiss. Lucy would then open her mouth really big and give me a big slobber on my cheek. She then would look at me, look at Sam, we would tell her “How Sweet!”, and then she would just start cracking up laughing. She did this about 10-15 times. It was the cutest thing ever! She is such a sweet baby. We are absolutely in love with this little girl. She brings the sweetest spirit into our home. We couldn’t be more blessed.

Textures & Patterns

Lucy is so fascinated with textures and patterns right now. If she sees one that is greatly contrasting, she goes crazy. This morning she caught sight of the pillows on my bed. She kept lunging for them and scratching them with her fingers. Friday and yesterday, it was the upholstery on our rocking chair she had to have. Not sure what is so interesting with that, but she likes it.

Hair?!

Lucy is almost bald. As her head has grown bigger, the bit of hair she was born with has spread more apart, making it look even more sparce. Today, as the light shined on the back of her head I could see that it looks as though there might be new hair finally growing. Kind of strange because she has not lost her newborn hair yet like all her siblings did at this point. I am starting to think that maybe she won’t lose it. The picture below is the best I could get. The very long random strands of hair are still the newborn ones. The very light fuzz looks like new hair coming in. 😊

Just Playing

Today has been kind of a laid back day. I have had a lot of Vet Science work to catch up on for my students so Lucy has had more independent playtime, or playtime with Daddy. She doesn’t seem to mind though.

Changes in the night

It is 5am and Lucy is wide awake. As I look at her little silhouette in the darkness, it is amazing to me to realize how much she has grown and changed in such a short time. During her nighttime feedings just three short months ago, she used to slump over my hand when I would burp her, her little head rested in the palm of my hand. Now, she sits up so straight, with her “big ol’ head” looking all around at everything she can take in. It is crazy how fast life moves forward. Even though it is not quite the time I want to be awake with her, I love these moments: Lucy and I just hanging out together without any other distraction. (Well, maybe the cat that keeps trying to get our attention. 😄 ) So for now, even though it is the wee hours of the morning, I am going to soak in the joy of my baby girl enjoying the feel of the sheets as she scratches them with her fingers, and her playing with her toes under her blanket as she talks to them. It’s these little changes in the night that go by so fast.

Good Bye Take Home Outfit

So Lucy’s take home outfit was quite a bit big when she wore it as a newborn. 😳 Four months later, I think we are wearing it for the last time. The crotch snaps are getting tight once again.

Lucy fell sound asleep in her Ergo. I really didnt want to wake her, but we had to leave for pack meeting.  Miraculously, she stayed asleep as I transferred her to her car seat, and also as I got her back out and put her back into the Ergo. She was worn out!
