Lunch with Alex

Today,Lucy and I had lunch with Alex. It is so funny how babies draw the attention of all the little girls. They were crazy for her, and Alex was so proud of his baby sister. It was SO cute! He kept telling all his classmates everything she could do. Lucy didn’t mind being the center of attention either. She loves to smile. ☺️ Too bad she wouldn’t sit still for a picture. (I think Alex needs a haircut! πŸ˜†)

Rough Day

Lucy woke up at 5am this morning and would not go back to sleep. She really was acting like she was in pain. I fed her, walked with her, sang to her, and after an hour, she was still not back asleep. I needed to start getting the kids’ things ready for school, so I put Lu in her swing to see what would happen. She slept until almost 11:00! I think she prefers being elevated. When she woke up, she was super happy and enjoyed several minutes of looking at her hands. She was fascinated. πŸ˜‰

After being awake for about an hour, Lucy began to get really fussy. She cried, sometimes very hard, off and on for about 2 hours. Finally, I gave her some Tylenol. My mom was over at the time, and she said she was about to recommend doing the same thing. It really seemed like Lucy was in pain, but it is so hard trying to decode a baby when they can’t tell you where it hurts or what is wrong. About 10 minutes after I gave her the Tylenol, she was sound asleep. When she woke up, she was fussy off and on the rest of the day. Not sure why. Guess we will have to wait and see if anything else presents itself.

Happy 4 Months Lucy!

Since yesterday was a bit crazy, I did not have time to take pictures of Lucy for turning 4 months. Today, we made up for that. She woke up in such a good mood, we played dress up all morning. What a sweetie pie!

This past month has been so much fun! Lucy is laughing & “talking” up a storm. I am even convinced she can say Mama. Sam has heard her too, so I am not just going crazy or hearing things. She loves musical nursery rhymes, sitting up and down, eating her toes & trying to fit both of her fists in her mouth, getting tickled, and still Piano Guys Jurassic Park. Lucy is very good at rolling over both ways now, and tries to take off when she is on her tummy. (I want to slow her down.) She still does not sleep through the night consistently, but has come close a couple of times. I think we still need to get her tummy under control before that gets better. Lu also drools a ton off and on still, but no sign of teeth yet. Lucy loves to smile at everyone, but is also in a separation anxiety/stranger anxiety phase. If she doesn’t know you, she’ll smile, but then she’ll give you the big lip and probably cry. If she wants Mom, she better get me  soon or Lucy will cry so hard she has a hard time catching her breath. Sam and I both feel it is a little early for this phase for her, but it has been 5 years since we have had an infant, so we might just not remember very well. We all love her so much though! She makes the entire family smile. Happy 4 Months Sweet Baby Girl!

Sick Little Girl

Yesterday evening Lu started running a fever.  It was only 99.9, but still something. Little Miss slept until 9:35 this morning. Her temperature was still elevated at 99.7, but she was all smiles. After an hour or so, her fever was gone. Not sure what that was all about, but I am glad it seems to be gone.

Chiro Visit

Lucy visited the chiropractor for the first time today. I don’t know who was more traumatized, Lucy or me! It was definitely not what I was expecting. (Not sure what that was in the first place.) Everyone kept saying they are very gentle on babies. If that is gentle, I would hate to see aggressive! Lucy cried so hard, she held her breath and turned dark red. I felt so bad for her. I tried to calm her, but she just looked at me with a terrified look like “Why are you letting them do this to me?!” 😒 The chiropractor said we should see good results after 2 visits and that 4 of her lumbar vertebrae were badly out of alignment. So far, I have not seen any difference. The only thing I had was a super upset little girl, who continued to spit up like crazy the rest of the day, and a very guilty conscience. Not sure we will be going back for visit #2.

Suppose to be a Take Home Outfit

With each baby we have had, the hunt for a Take Home Outfit is always an adventure. I think only Brianna and Alex actually had one that worked up to this point. I ordered this little outfit for Lucy from London. The pictures were very hard to see exactly what it looked like, but I thought it was cute and unique. When it arrived, it was not what I thought. Also, the sizing I could tell was going to be a huge issue. The bottoms looked very big, and the “dress” looked very small. Trying it on today, things still didn’t work. πŸ˜• Lucy still does not fit in the very large bloomers, and the dress is obviously a shirt now. The bonnet is also very small. Oh well, I tried. Little chubbs missed the mark for this outfit.

Special Bath Surprise

Sam’s friend Michael, from EDS, has a little baby girl just a few days younger than Lucy. This week Sam had lunch with Michael and his family gave Lucy a special surprise… Bath Toys! They are so incredibly cute! Tonight Lucy got to play with them for the first time, and she LOVED them, especially the bath book! She was talking away to it. We are so grateful to Michael, Brandi, and baby Maedreigh for the awesome gifts! That was so sweet of them!😊
