It is after 11:00pm and this day has gone by so fast. We helped the Williams get their house cleaned before they leave tomorrow, and then picked up the little kids early from school so that they could have as much time to play with their friends before they move. It was a very busy day. Lucy was such a good girl just tagging along everywhere. She is worn out.

Frustration
Lucy is really beginning to display her personality. She is such a funny little girl. She LOVES being the center of attention! She is such a ball of smiles if people are paying attention to her. However, you can’t take Mommy out of the mix. She is still very attached. Lucy loves to try and do what everyone else in the house is trying to do, but that leads to lots of frustration. She is still only 5 months old, in a 5 month old baby body. Today at storytime, she wanted so badly to hold and look through her book by herself, but it kept falling because it was a bigger heavier board book than most. She got so mad it wasn’t cooperating, she let out a loud scream. The librarians and other parents started laughing. I just felt bad for her because you could tell she was very frustrated.
She gets that way with her toys too. Sometimes they just won’t do what she wants them to do. She is a little girl with big plans!
Sleep? And Swim
Oh blessed sleep, where are you?! Lucy has been waking up at night so much lately. I am hoping she finds a better rhythm soon. Morning naps just don’t work for me.
As precious as she is, I need my nighttime sleep!
Lucy had her first swim class today. It was FABULOUS! Mrs. Brandi let us know about these awesome “Bathtime Babies” classes that Elmer Swim School does, and they are so neat. One major perk is that they are Free! We get to go until January. Lucy was so fascinated waiting for her class. It was so cute to watch her face in anticipation for her turn.
I wasn’t able to get any pictures of her actually in the water, (for obvious reasons) but she had a blast!
She kept pounding her hands on the water, splashing water all over her face and mine, but doing it again after the shock of the water in her face went away with a big breath and shudder. π Her instructor, Mrs. Jennifer, couldn’t hold back her laugh when she got ready to start class and looked at Lucy, with water dripping all over her face and a huge smile. She is such a funny little girl. I keep saying she is my little girl, fighting to be a big girl in a little baby’s body. At one point, we went on the stairs for an activity and Lucy started crying because she thought we were getting out. I hope she will be this excited for every class. Afterwards, once I got her dressed and in her car seat so I could change, she crashed out before we ever even made it to the van.
It was a short lived nap, however, because we had to leave for Natalie’s Element Super Hero presentation not long after we got home, and then the Williams came to play again. At least Lucy was happy. βΊοΈ
Busy Day
It was a very busy day today. Lucy and I went shopping for Halloween costumes, only to have an older lady chew me out for not picking up Lucy out of her car seat. Mrs. Dawn came to visit us and see our new house. Maybe one day it will be unpacked and decorated. Then the Williams’ kids came to play and have dinner with us. We are trying to squeeze in as much playtime as possible before they leave on Friday morning. I only managed to grab a couple of quick pics of Lucy playing after everyone went home.
Beginning of Good-Bye
Today we were hit hard with the realization that our best friends are going to be moving away in a few short days. It is so hard to imagine how it will be with them gone. After church, we went to their family recital and farewell party. Lucy was pretty tired from being up most of the night, so she napped for a good portion of it.
She also enjoy a bit of piano time. Maybe she’ll like to play it as she gets older.
Just Another Crazy Saturday
Saturdays always seem to get crazy. Luckily, Lucy slept like a champ last night, and only woke up twice in the night. I felt like a new person! I did feel bad having to wake Lucy up at almost 10am when she still was not awake yet. I had to run some errands before Mrs. Dawn’s baby shower and wanted to make sure Lucy ate before I left. She looked so sweet sleeping.
Daddy spent most of the day with her after that. I was able to squeeze in a little playtime after feeding her in the afternoon, before I took William fishing for his date night. She seems like she is going to just take off any day. She wants to get places so badly. If her body would just cooperate.
Big Brother Friday
Lucy and I ate lunch with Alex today. I absolutely love how much he smiles when she comes. All his little buddies comment how cute she is and he just lights up with pride and pats her head. It is so sweet.
Nate has also been very loving with Lu lately. He is so good with her. I love how much he wants to hold her.
Tonight we went to our first Wylie High School football game with the Williams. It is going to be so hard not having them around. I know we ALL are going to miss them so much. It got pretty cold, and the crickets were CRAZY dive bombing everyone, but it was a great night spent with great friends.

Drinking From a Cup
Happy 5 Months Sweet Baby Girl!
Oh Lucy! You are a gem! Even on your roughest days, you still manage to smile and melt my heart! You are, what we think, teething so bad right now. All you want to do is suck on your bottom lip or nurse. Your bottom gums seem puffy, but I cannot see any teeth at all. I hope if this is teething, that the teeth come through soon. I hate to see you hurting.
At five months: You LOVE to smile! People are always commenting on how happy you are and how much you smile. (So different from a couple months ago. π We really had them fooled, huh!) You still LOVE Piano Guys Jurassic Park. I am thinking one day this will not be the case, and the novelty will wear off. But for now, it is still a pretty sure thing to use if you are crying in your car seat. I think your siblings are sick of it though. They have heard it a few hundred times. Now you will sometimes cry if the song ends. We have figured out how to put the disc player on repeat, just for you. Your favorite toy is your VTech Merry Go Round, and the kitchen sink. If you see either, your arms and legs get going and we have to stop and play. You are also in love with Khaliyah. What was a major dislike a few months ago is now a sweet bond between you and her. She definitely knows her licking limits now. You are beginning to clap, and can sit very well unassisted. You also love to roll all over the floor. You are beginning to really scoot, but you oftentimes end up somewhere you were not wanting to go. The coordination will come soon enough. You LOVE Mommy, and if anyone else is going to hold you, I usually cannot be in sight. You probably have the earliest separation anxiety of any Hardy kidlets. Some of that might be due to being uncomfortable too. Sleeping, well, you usually have 2 really good daytime naps. One about an hour after you wake up in the morning, and the other around 1:00. The rest of the day depends on the other kids’ schedules. Nighttime is a whole different ball game. Let’s just say sleep really is not happening much. I am so hoping this changes soon because Daddy and I are getting pretty exhausted! You weigh 15lbs 3oz but I’m not sure how long you are. I’ll have to check when you are not napping. You still nurse every 2 hours, but sometimes it varies depending on your mood and activity. You can say Mama very well, but all other sounds have stopped for now. Teething changes all kinds of milestones. I love you so much! You are such an amazing little girl. I cannot wait to see and experience all the new things you’ll learn and do in the months ahead! Happy 5 months Lulu Pie! βΊοΈ
