Yum Yum!

I had a doctor’s appt today, so Lucy had to come along for the ride. She has some pretty intense separation anxiety, so I dont dare leave her with anyone yet. They would never forgive me.

She was a good girl, but didn’t want to stay in her car seat. Mrs. Amy came to hold her though, which was so nice. It sure made my appointment so much easier. Later in the afternoon, I tried some oatmeal with Lucy. She loved it. She ate every bit of it.

Then, she wanted to do it all herself. 😜

6 Month Check-Up

Well I managed to forget to take a picture today. It is the first time in many months. Oh well. Today was such a busy day, we didn’t stop very much at all. Lucy had her doctor’s appointment this morning. She was absolutely fabulous! Dr. Lin kept commenting on how incredibly happy she was. I just laughed. Our family knows she can go from angel baby to screaming banshee in a matter of seconds. She just has others fooled. Lu’s appointment went well. He was just a little concerned about her weight. She was 15.10 a few weeks ago, when she went in for a sick check, and is now down to 15.01. The doctor is thinking it could be because she was sick with her ear infection , and then a virus on top of that. They are going to watch her for the next little bit. She is still growing fabulously though. She is 26 3/4″ long. How our babies get so long in the beginning and then are so short later on is a mystery me. Sam and I decided to wait again on Lucy’s vaccines. I did not feel good about getting them this time. She has been sick off and on for a while now, I didn’t want to risk adding more issues when we are finally recovering. Dr Lin was great with our decision. I was so glad. I was really nervous that he was going to say he couldn’t see her anymore. I love how he listens to the parents and makes their thoughts and feelings important too. After her doctor’s appointment, Lucy had swim class. She was SO excited. We have missed 2 weeks in a row with her being sick. She just kept splashing and kicking like a crazy person. I love her so much!

Yes, She Says “Mama!”

Lucy has been saying “Mama” and “Dada” for a little while now. We have kind of neglected to get in on video though. Tonight she was having a babbling spell, so it gave me plenty of time to capture “Mama.” ☺️

Avocado & Present, Here we come!

Lucy finally got to have her birthday avocado. She liked it. Only a bit of a funny face when Alex gave her a more chunky bite.

Alex really wanted to help. He did great! Lucy loves him so much. The kids really wanted Lucy to open her present.    She just wanted to EAT it! πŸ˜‚

Happy Fabulous 6 Months Baby Girl!

It really seems like yesterday since we brought Lu home from the hospital. It is so incredibly hard to believe six months have already gone by! She has grown and changed so much! Today was a wonderful day.  Alex helped Daddy entertain Lucy in the morning while I caught up her blog.He is such a fabulous big brother!

Being Sunday, it usually is pretty crazy, but we had regional conference at church. Since my vision is still shot and Lucy barely makes it through a normal church session, I decided to stay home with her. (That wasn’t before I already got her dressed.πŸ˜„) She looked so cute in her poofy dress. Boy, poofy is cute but restricting! I couldn’t get it off of her fast enough. Once I got her changed, it didn’t take her long to fall asleep for her morning nap.   At first I tried laying her in her swing so I could work on some projects. She showed me that was not on option. So, I held her for her entire nap, and just kept taking pictures of her beautiful little face.  After she woke up (2 hours later), I wanted to get a few pictures of her on her birthday. Poor baby girl is just not smiling much at all right now. Her mouth is making her pretty miserable. I feel so bad for her. You can see the teeth on the bottom and top, just below the skin, but they still are not out yet.  Of course the smiles we did get blurred. We’ll just have to wait for better shots from her 6 month session on Friday. Hopefully she’ll be happy then.     Sam brought me to a Cub Scout meeting, and Lu crashed out again.   I really wanted to have Lucy try her birthday avacodo and open her present the kids got her, but Natalie was at choir practice until late. By the time Natalie got home, Lucy had fallen asleep on Sam. Trying something new out ended up being a disaster. I will try with her tomorrow at a better time of the day and with less distractions. Poor baby just wanted to go to bed!  Her present will have to wait until tomorrow too.

Adventure Day and The Train

Today we got to finally have Nate’s birthday pancakes. Crazy school day mornings just don’t work very well for our family tradition.  Afterwards, Lu crashed out. I guess she is making up for her many sleepless nights.

Sam had to help me run my crazy shopping errands today. And on Saturdays, with Sam comes Lu. 😊 She was such a good patient girl. We went to the eye store, Sams, she went to Grandma’s, and then they both came to the grocery store to bail me out of my oblivion shopping trip. I thought I could handle Walmart just fine. I have been there millions of times and know where everything is. 😳 I might know where everything is, but reading the labels to make sure I got the right item took me FOREVER! Sam and Lucy came to the rescue after 2 hours of me wandering around. I felt like a complete idiot! Luckily Lucy held it together until the very end at the checkouts. She had been so many places, she was done! When we made it home, all she wanted to do was play with her train. Emily gave us this little alphabet train from Quinn and Miller. I think it has now become one of Lucy’s favorite toys. She squeals when she sees it, and cries when you walk by it without letting her play. She is now enjoying riding on it. I don’t think it will be very much longer before her feet can both reach the ground so she can make it go.        Lucy loves to try and put the pieces in the slots.  She’ll play with it so long, the dog gets jealous of it. πŸ˜†  At least it makes Lucy happy!

Just a Day

It was a pretty laid back day today. We couldn’t go anywhere, since I cannot drive. Lu and I just played a lot at home. Even the dog enjoyed us being home.  Yuck! Lu got some new bows in the mail today. They are so cute.  They are kind of big.   And maybe a bit heavy. πŸ˜‚

Mom loses her vision

Right before Lucy was born, I had some pretty weird medical conditions going on. In the process of trying to diagnose things, I developed a corneal ulcer from a new pair of contacts that were given to me. Well, yesterday I ran completely out of my prescription contacts, and grabbed a pair from the box the ophthalmologist gave me back in April. Bad idea! They ended up tearing my cornea. No ulcer this time, because I caught it fast enough, but definitely a tear. It hurts so bad! Now I am not able to wear anything until, at the earliest, Monday. I hate not being able to see clearly. Trying to run around with Lucy is pretty challenging when nothing is in focus. My mom came to help me out today, and I am so glad she did because Lucy did not want to nap at all. She was content, but wouldn’t sleep. Just a crazy little girl.   She loves her bath flower. I get the naughty mommy award though, because as she was trying to crawl off onto the floor, she tumped down and bumped her face on the floor. Yep, bathtime ended at that point. I was able to snap a few quick in the tub pics while I distracted her with her favorite tub toys.

But that didn’t last for long. We got dressed and went to bed a screaming mess. I felt terrible. Hopefully we have a better day tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, Bubba!

It is Nate’s birthday today, but with Lucy not sleeping much at all, when she does, we try not to wake her. So, we missed seeing Nate before he left for school this morning to wish him a Happy Birthday. It’s #16 for him! I can’t believe that time has gone by as fast as it has. I was unsure about taking Lucy to storytime this morning, as out of sorts as she has been lately, but when she did wake up, she seemed happy.   When we finally got dressed and loaded up to leave, she fell sound asleep in her car seat. I was tempted to stay home at this point, but decided we would try to go.  I woke Lu up in the Storytime room and she was so excited. She let out a shrill of excitement, and her little arms and legs were going crazy. I guess she was happy to be there. There were only 4 other babies there today, but that was great for us. We got extra ball roll turns and extra playtime. She was one happy camper! We took Nate to Cheesecake Factory for his birthday, and all Lc y wanted to do was eat spoons, napkins, and stare at the cakes in the cake case. At least she did remarkably well for her first time in a nice restaurant.  Happy 16th Birthday Nate! We LOVE YOU so much!

Are we teething, or not?!

Today was another rough day. Lu just wanted to cry most of the day. I feel so bad for her. It must be her teeth, but we have been doing this for MONTHS now, and still nothing has come through. Ugh! Teething Torture!  I can’t keep enough cold teethers and chewy things in the fridge.
