Finding Our Christmas Tree

It has been a family tradition for years to cut down our Christmas tree at the local tree farms. We usually do it the weekend right after Thanksgiving. However, since it was raining so bad and cold this year, we waited a week. Lucy had a HORRIBLE night’s sleep. She would not let me or Sam lay her down at all. She would only sleep if we held her. Let’s just say it was a VERY LONG night! We ended up missing our Ward Christmas breakfast, so we just bought donuts and headed out to Wintergreen to hunt for our tree.  Little Miss looked just like a present ready for Christmas. 😍    The boys loved taking Lucy through the trees.  “Hey, aren’t we supposed to be looking for something?!”   The trees were all surprisingly really small this year. Usually we are telling the kids the trees won’t fit. We decided not to purchase a tree from the farm this year. We did get some good pictures and had some fun before we left though.    We found a beautiful 9′ Frasier Fir at Home Depot. Since we didn’t cut it down at the tree farm, I made the boys saw off the bottom branches and fresh cut the trunk. Close enough to the real thing. 😉  I can’t wait to see it decorated.
