Happy Christmas Eve!

This Christmas has been quite different than most. With Lucy and I being sick for so long, a lot of our usual Christmas traditions have been skipped. No Christmas cards were mailed. No nativity party. No caroling and treats delivered. We only looked at lights from Grand Prairie lights. Usually we go multiple times. Presents were all bought at the last possible minute. The nice thing, it has been fabulous so far! As cruddy as I have felt, and Lucy too, there has been joy in the simpleness of the season. I am so grateful for all the blessings we have been given and for my fabulous family! They are my joy in this season.

First we read our nativity story with Brie. Then, we opened our Christmas pajamas and new ornaments for this year. Lucy couldn’t get hot chocolate or caramel popcorn, so she got Mum Mums and Veggie Puffs. Next we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for Christmas Eve Dinner.    The Girls looked so cute!  And YES, we even cooked Shrimp on the Barbie in Decemeber! Crazy 80 degree Texas weather!  After dinner, the kids put on their Christmas  pjs and had their treats. Lucy was playing and we were trying to get her picture. We gave her an unopened package of M&Ms to distract her. Bad idea! Those new little chompes made it right through the package. She was very upset when we had to take it away.  Grandma got Wubble Balls for the kids. They were so excited.          After reading Luke 2,watching our annual Christmas video, and singing Christmas carols, we went home and made our birthday cake for baby Jesus.  Enough excitement for one day. πŸ˜‰
