Finding Places to Wedge

I love when Lu sleeps in so happily!  Today I had a bit of last minute shopping to do. Lucy stayed with Daddy, and was one happy little girl.   When I came home this evening, Lucy was showing off her moving skills. She has mastered backwards! She just gets so frustrated when what she wants gets further and further away. At least her tummy time is increasing a little.    Now she is enjoying finding places to squeeze into. πŸ˜‚

Toothy Tuesday

It is so nice having Brianna home! Everyone has been so happy. She really brings such joy to our family. This morning we snuck away to bring the dog to the groomer and to get some groceries. When we got home, we found out poor Lucy was running a temperature. I just feel so bad for Lu. She has been stuffy for so long now! We have missed 2 weeks of swim already, and now will have to miss 2 more because of the holidays. Sam bought me and Brie tickets to see A Christmas Carol. After running home to nurse Lucy and cuddle her for a bit, Brie and I went to the show. It was fabulous! DTC really does a great job! When we came home, Lucy was incredibly smiley. For as sick as she has been, the biggest thing affected has been her sleep. Otherwise she has been so sweet and happy. Her fever seemed to be gone. After checking her, it confirmed she had no fever. Then I started to wonder if something else was up. I looked in her mouth with my phone flashlight, and sure enough, Tooth #2 had completely broken through. Maybe this has been the main cause of her discomfort. When I called to Sam to come see Lucy’s tooth, Natalie rushed in saying she just lost a tooth. Then Alex hurried in saying his first tooth was about to fall out. What a Toothy Tuesday! πŸ˜‚

Lucy Signs

Today, Lucy very officially made her first baby sign: Eat! I have been doing them so long, I just thought she would never catch on. We had been so busy, I think I actually was not keeping track of when I last fed her. She was playing in the music room, and I peeked around the corner at her. She smiled at me with a huge smile, then immediately signed “Eat.” I clapped for her and then she clapped for herself and did her sign again. ☺️ I guess we’ll be adding more now.

Looking at Lights

Lucy and I have been so sick lately, we have not participated in many holiday activities. I think our heads are never going to quit making snot! We really wanted to go see lights with Brie. Since we couldn’t have our Nativity Party since everyone has been sick, we decided to go to Grand Prairie Lights instead. Joe Pool Lake has had issues with flooding due to the excessive amount of rain. For that reason, our admission was discounted. What a treat. This year we only waited in line for an hour and a half. We just brought the DVD players and put in Elf. It worked out great. The lights were really good, even though there were less. Lucy LOVED them! She kept screaming out the window at them. She cracks us up! πŸ˜‚   On the way.   Just about to enter the park.      Hot chocolate in Holiday Village.   The Light Tunnel One tired out little Lu.

Welcome Home Brie

It is so sad you cannot wait in the airport for passengers anymore. Brie didn’t get a big hurrah when she came off the plane, but we were sure glad she was home! We took a trip to the Gaylord after we picked her up to take pictures together.         Decorations were a bit disappointing from years past, but it was still so nice to have everyone together. I think Lucy was excited Brie was home too. She kept staring at her and smiling. I know she hasn’t forgotten her sister. 😊 We went to Grandma & Grandpa’s house later on. Lucy was mesmerized by Quinn’s dog. I love how she stares things down as she tries to figure them out.

Toys for Tots

Nothing brings in the Spirit of Christmas better than giving to others during the holidays. Today, Natalie, Lucy, & I worked at Toys for Tots. This is my favorite activity of the year! I was a little worried about what I would be able to do with Lucy in tow, but she was FABULOUS! She slept until 9:30, and then made her rounds with the ladies the rest of the day. I was sad at how slow things were for most of the time, but it also shed light that maybe there is less need this year than in previous years. (That is what I am hoping at least.)  Lucy LOVED Mr. Snowman! Every time we walked where she could see him, she would start screaming to him, talking her new “alien” language, and swinging her arms and legs all over.      Lynette said Lucy would make a great mascot. πŸ˜‚

Lucy loved seeing Ms. Nicole. ☺️ We haven’t seen her in such a long time. Lucy thought Ms. Nicole’s sparkly red nail polish was the best. She would just stare, with her mouth wide open, then get her little fingers and try to pick at them.

Lucy Faces

Today was a very busy day! William had his holiday party at school that I was in charge of. My other room mom was out of town, so I had to do it by myself. (With Lucy of course) Jaime was so sweet to let me borrow her Baby B’Jorn for the morning. It allowed me to free my hands and still carry Lucy. Lucy was AMAZING! She didn’t cry the entire time we were at the school. She babbled to all the little girls and got passed around. I was so proud of her. It felt so good to do something for William.   Our silly attempt at a three person selfie. πŸ˜‚   The kids ate snacks, painted pictures… …and ran a stocking stuffing relay race. It was great fun! I brought the boys home, then went to pick up Nate from school. He took FOREVER to come out! Lucy sleep for most of the time, but when she woke up, we had to get creative.   She sure can make some funny faces! To finish the night out, we hosted Natalie’s Girl Scout troop.
