Big Brother Fun

Today was such a beautiful day. This gorgeous Texas weather is amazing! I really hope it sticks around and doesn’t throw a curve ball at us. Lucy has been off in sleeping at night so bad lately, but she really seems to be getting into a very regular daytime routine. She is waking up around 7:30, taking a morning nap around 9:30 (for around an hour to an hour and a half), taking another nap around 2, and going to bed AT 9! Bedtime is the one time that is set for her. We know when we have missed it! I am hoping that with her daytime being consistent, her nighttime will follow. Right now, she is cutting her top 2 teeth, so it might be a little while before nighttime sleep gets better.   Oh these sweet sleepy time moments! I know they will not last much longer. I just can’t get enough of them. This is about the only time Craziness lets me cuddle her.  Otherwise, she is on the go! Lucy sure had fun with her brothers today.   She played with her animals with Nate, and told him all about them.  And Alex was a great helper at bathtime. She loves her brothers so much!

Ugh! My Pictures!

Well, I deleted all my pictures from today unintentionally. And of course Lucy looked so sweet in her pink and silver pants and tutu. Oh well. The only picture I have is evidence of a vampire in our midst:  Two nice chomper marks from a Lu! I am hoping she was just hungry and trying to tell me. I do not want another repeat of Natalie. Lucy wanted to practice walking all day today. She would not let me hold her, but she would not let me leave her either. She had about 6 good wipe outs today. Her poor little head. I might take up Shannon’s idea and get her a helmet.  I managed to snap a few “selfie”shots before she went to bed. Silly girl. She loves the camera.

Pat the Bunny

Alex got really sick last night. He threw up most of the night, so we obviously kept him home today. He stayed in bed all day, and Lucy and I played quietly so he could rest. (Other than Lucy calling her new friend “Ree-La!” we played quietly. Oh the sounds she comes out with!πŸ˜‚)  The kids are convinced she can say Burger, Maedreigh, & Hadley. We haven’t caught any of those on video though. Lucy sure LOVES her Pat the Bunny book! She will go back and forth through the pages for over 15 minutes. Sometimes when I get tired of Pat the Bunny, and try to put the book away, she gets mad at me. Today, we read it for a very long time. πŸ˜‰  I love that she finds pleasure in “reading.” I am hoping she will love to read like the other kids. Lucy is really getting better at trying new foods and liking them. Today she enjoyed a frozen peach. I think her upper 2 teeth are working their way down, so I think the cold felt good on her gums.

Sensory Fun and 2 Steps!

Wow! Today was CRAZY! Lucy and I had a very busy day. We first went to storytime. Then, we just couldn’t get enough fun with Mrs. Brandi and Maedreigh, so we met up with them in McKinney at Sensory Fun From Day 1. It is a new play facility they are opening with “Open Play” on Wednesdays for $5.The girls had a lot of fun. Lucy practiced her new bubble blowing skill from Sunday. This always cracks me up when babies figure out how to do this.  The girls played with balls, scooters, bouncers, glitter bottles, and more. It was not quite what I invisioned it to be, but it was still a great get away for moms and little girls. After playtime, Lucy crashed out.  When she woke up, she was eager to cruise. I was videoing her going between her Elsa car and her play table when I ran out of space on my phone.  The little turkey took 2 steps all on her own, without holding on to anything, not 2 seconds after my camera stopped!!!! I was SO frustrated! I knew she looked like she was going to try, that is why I was taping, but Natalie had filled my storage with swim videos from last night. I couldn’t get them off fast enough to catch her. Of course, then Lucy wiped out and was done with her tricks for the day.   She is sooo determined to go, go, go! After all that, it was off th activity days, scouts, and mutual. Wednesdays just get crazy!

Adventures with the Taylers

We haven’t seen the Taylers since before Christmas. It was so nice to see Brandi and Mardreigh today. They invited us to join them at storytime in McKinney.  Lucy got in her “pre-activity” nap before we went, so she was well rested for play.  The girls are still at the independent play phase, but I know they are going to be great buddies in a few months. They are so stinkin’ cute! It was pretty cool how many 8 month old babies there were in storytime today. Lucy came home and took a 2+hour nap. She was whooped! Later on, it was time for round 2: Lucy’s new Water Babies class! Of course she was sound asleep going to class, but that quickly changed when she realized where she was. We have a new teacher, Miss LaShira, and class was a bit loud, but Lucy still seemed to really enjoy it.   Daddy and Natalie were even able to come and visit since our new class is at night.

Dallas Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park

All I can say is, “Wow!” I finally got to take Lucy to the little aquarium in Fair Park. It was fabulous for Lucy! Everything was at the perfect height, either for her to walk up to, or for me to hold her at. It was not crowded at all, so I didn’t have to worry about her getting run over. It was $15 for an annual pass for me, and Lucy was free because she is under 2.   We played a bit before we went, so Lucy was sound asleep when we got there.   She looked so sweet and peaceful, I let her rest a little and checked things out while she slept.   I think the alligator behind her wanted to eat her for lunch. Not even kidding! 😳  It hopped off of its ledge so fast when it saw her.  The tanks were fabulous, and there was such a variety of animals.    Lucy really loved the sting rays in Sting Ray Bay. I think she really wanted to get in their tank. πŸ˜‚

A Great Sunday

This Sunday was a fabulous day! We managed to get through the day without any blow outs!  Lu napped before church, so she was a ball full of fun during services. She took another great nap when we got home though. It was all play from there. I am just loving her happy disposition! She is so funny, and usually always a ball of smiles. Her expressions when she plays are priceless! πŸ˜†

Love her kitty jammies! I’m sure Brie will too. 😊

Burr Saturday!Β

Today was another cold day. I ran errands, and Lu stayed with Daddy.   I always feel so guilty leaving her home, but sometimes I can just get so much more accomplished without having to take her in and out of the car seat over and over again. Plus, she doesn’t like doing that anyways. I love when I get home and she gets so excited to see me. How can you not love her sweet cheeks! ☺️

Crazy Friday! (No time to be sick!)

Thank goodness I was feeling better today! I had 2 award ceremonies to go to, since it was the end of the second 9 weeks of school and also the end of the semester, plus lunch with William. We woke Lucy up super early, and brought her to Bulldog Boogie. It was very hard to get pictures though, because it was very crowded. William was rewarded for the AB Honor Roll and his excellent Think Through Math completion. As soon as Bulldog Boogie was over, Lucy crashed out! We went to Natalie’s awards ceremony, where Natalie was awarded for the All A Honor Roll.    The kids have worked so hard, and I am so proud of them all! Lucy stayed asleep ALL the way until I had lunch with William at 11:30! She was SOOOO tired! When we got home from lunch, it was back to exploring. πŸ˜„

What kind of weather was that!?!

I was still feeling really bad today. We just stayed inside. It ended up being a good thing though. Lucy had a MAJOR diaper blow out. Again! Chunky thighs and almost no butt makes a perfect recipe for disaster lately! (I still think she’s absolutely adorable though! πŸ˜‚) Too bad right after I snapped the last shot, Lucy lost her grab and fell, of course 3″ too far, and whacked her head on the tile. I grabbed her a second too late. 😞 I scooped Lucy up, and after calming down, quickly put some clothes on her. Luckily her bump was not too bad. All of a sudden, outside, I heard rain start. Well, what I thought was rain.  It was hailing, sleeting, snowing, and raining all at the same time!  It quickly covered the ground in a blanket of white, but as quickly as it came, it was soon gone. Crazy Texas! Lucy played the rest of the day, trying to find every way to get into mischief. Today, her new discovery was the front door.  I am so glad there are secondary lock plates on the door.
