This morning I woke up and felt HORRIBLE! So much for our trip to the aquarium today, and storytime! I was not going to go anywhere! Lucy had other plans! She has finally worked out going forwards, instead of backwards. When she sees what she wants, she really knows how to get it! Today, that desired item was Natalie’s gum wrappers.

Happy Birthday Mom
Today was my actual birthday, and what a fantastic way to wake up!
I LOVE the smiles I get from Lucy when she realizes I am next to her when she wakes up. Lucy had her last day of Bathtime Babies at Elmer today. Since she woke up at almost 10:00, we had to hurry, get dressed, and head out the door to swim.
Lu loves to play, but she LOVES swim even more! She loves to try and get Mrs Jenn’s attention while she waits her turn.
Mrs. Jenn has been such a fabulous instructor. We will miss her so much, but cannot wait to see what new things Lucy will learn with her new teacher Miss LaShira. We will also get to be in class with Mrs. Brandi and Maedreigh. βΊοΈ
Swim always gives Lucy enough stimulation for a long afternoon nap.
We were in such a hurry to get out the door, I didn’t even see my birthday surprises. A beautiful way to end the day. βΊοΈπ
Birthday Adventures at Jake’s
Today was so special. We decided to celebrate my birthday at Amazing Jakes since Sam and the kids had off for MLK Day. It was somewhere that had a little something for everyone. Even Lucy got to enjoy pizza crust and the carousel.
She thinks she is such a Big girl.
Alex and I had the fastest car on the track. We were smokin’ by everyone!
Lucy is unimpressed with our selfie attempt. π
The boys did fabulous on the rock wall. Lucy enjoyed screeching down to them from above.
Alex and Wii melt my heart when they play together. Such a cute brother bond.
This is how WE elk hunt. Nate is quite the hunter.π
Buckling up for the ride.
It was such an amazing evening! The kids had a blast. Lucy was wonderful. And my best birthday gift ever, was seeing Nate and Natalie rock the house down on dance party. If only I could download the video. It is priceless!βΊοΈ
“Hell-o!” Poop And SoupΒ
Well, as always, Sunday was an adventure. We loaded into the car for a fun filled afternoon at church. Natalie was left at home because she was having such a bad attitude day, she was much better off there than with me. When sacrament started, Lucy got very VERY loud. Sam took her out, then I took her out. She just enjoyed walking up and down the hallways saying, “Hel-lo. Hel-lo.” She is quite a mover and a talker lately. While I was talking to Emily in the foyer, I looked over at Lucy, who was sitting by the doors playing with Jaime and Catherine, and was horrified at what I saw. Her diaper had completely leaked out the leg holes. She had poop seeping through all her layers! π³ Yep, I forgot to put a new back up outfit in the diaper bag. We were finished with church at that point. I wrapped her bum in her blanket and took her home. Yuck!
Of course she would fall asleep in her car seat on the way home though. I tried to let her sleep a little, but couldn’t handle the thought of knowing she was so messy, and woke her up. She was not happy.
She needed a bath! After getting her all cleaned up, I nursed her and she fell back asleep. She was much happier after she woke up. βΊοΈ
In the evening, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to celebrate my birthday. Everything was wonderful until little bit decided out of the blue that she wanted Grandma’s soup and stuck her hand in the hot bowl. Barbara felt horrible. We rushed Lucy to the sink, ran her hand under cold water, and then gave her a cold water bottle to hold. She was fine. I think it shocked her more than anything.
Lucy loves to play with Quinn. Quinny is so sweet with her. She is just like a little mommy.
Lucy is finally warming up to Grandpa too.
Beautiful Weather, Where’d You Go?!
Such Beautiful Weather!
We have not had normal weather in Texas AT ALL lately! From floods, to wild tornadoes, to now way above average winter temperatures, it is crazy! I am LOVING the beautiful weather though. Lucy and I ate lunch with Natalie today at her school.
It was so pretty, we sat outside. When all the kids came outside for lunch recess, Lucy insisted on being put down to walk. She wanted to take off with the school kids. If I tried to pick her up so we could move a bit faster, she would scream. Silly girl! I don’t think she even realizes, or cares, that she is 1/5 their size. After lunch, we came home to work on our fort. Lucy has been such trooper! She will usually play on her play blanket for about an hour before she needs me. It has been such a huge help to try and get this thing finished!
Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Jaime have been such HUGE helps too! They are incredible neighbors! I am so grateful to have them. Lucy is really starting to enjoy her playmate, Hadley, too.
Our Birthday Lunch with Nana
I hate when I go do things with Lucy and forget to take pictures. π Today we went to lunch at Spring Creek to celebrate my birthday. It was so yummy, and Lucy was so good. She slept for the first little bit, then woke up and ate rolls with us. She thought she was such a big girl. No grown up food is safe from her anymore! After lunch, we went to Barnes and Noble and did find the large edition of “Pat the Bunny.” I think it is one of my favorite little baby books. We came home and worked on the fort a bit more after that. Eventually we will get it complete.
No more space
Well, I guess WordPress has decided I have used too much space with Lucy’s pictures. So… I won’t be able to post anymore until I can optimize all her other ones and decrease the space we have used. π³ That will take a while. So for now, we will be posting pictureless. $100 a year is just too much to spend on a blog.
Welcome Back Storytime!
Storytime started up again today at the library. Lucy was so incredibly excited! She was squealing, talking, and shaking her hands.
She was mesmerized by Miss Kelsey and Mrs. Debbie. They got new books, one of which was “Pat the Bunny.” I completely forgot about that book. Lucy loves it! We’ll need to try and track it down.
