Wow! After an eventful late night, we slept in pretty long. We finally made to Utah after 10, and by the time we claimed our luggage and met up with Eric and Time, it was almost 11:30. It did not help that we distracted Eric on the way home and caused him to get a speeding ticket. π Doesn’t seem like the best start to our trip.
However, everything was great from there. It was a bit chilly, with rain/snow mixed together all day, but it felt fabulous! The view from Eric’s was incredible.
Lucy was intrigued by Eric. βΊοΈ
She also LOVED Aspen.
Lucy was so sick for so long, it is so nice she can finally rest.
Lucy slept for 3 hours while we ate lunch and went exploring mansions in the mountains. (That included scoping out the deer.π)
After a little playtime in Aspen’s dog food, we headed to Provo for Brie’s banquet.
The views are absolutely beautiful here!
A lot of the flowers are beginning to bloom. It was so great to see Brie! I have missed her so bad.
The banquet was very nice. We are so proud of Brie and all her hard work!
We got to eat dinner on BYU’s official china. We had salad, rolls, chicken with an almond sauce, roasted potatoes and veggies, and the most heavenly strawberry cake with white chocolate crusted bottom. Yum!
Afterwards, we strolled the walkways of campus with Brie. Lucy loved hanging her head out of my jacket just staring at her sister. It was hilarious because she did it for about 5 minutes straight!
Brie had to show us the library before we headed back to Eric’s house. It was wonderful evening.

Heading to Utah
Wow this morning was CRAZY!
We got the dog dropped off at the boarders, and were so grateful that she went in very politely and calm.
Lu and I had some last minute errands to run. In a hurry, I was trying to get things accomplished, but Lucy had other plans.
She had to play peek a boo with herself in the mirror at Old Navy…
…take over the desserted crate at home…
…and play in the sink so I could get her car seat cleaned and the dishes washed before we left. Luckily she wore herself out and fell asleep when it was time to pack the car, drop off the bunnies, and get the kids from school.
The boys said bye to Miles, then we headed to drop them off at Grandma and Grandpa’s.
We got Dad picked up and dropped off our luggage curbside. Fortunately for us, the airport agent noticed Sam had left his driver’s license and debit card at the counter before we got too far away.
Lucy loved watching all the carts and vehicles travel below the terminal.
We boarded without any problem and were so exited to be heading to Utah.
That was until they told us a landing gear flap was broken and we would be delayed for an hour.π³ Luckily they let us off the plane!
After an hour and a half, and lots of running and playing with blue lights, we were finally on our way!
Getting Ready to Go
As we are packing up things and getting ready to leave tomorrow, Lucy is finally feeling SO much better. She wants to be outside so bad.
I think she has had enough inside you time, that she is just bored with her toys now.
Luckily Hadley and Mrs. Jaime came to see us.
Lucy loves Hadley and feeling like a big girl when they are together. βΊοΈ
Easter Sunday with Scarlet Fever
Lucy’s rash sure looks terrible!
At least her smiles are coming back a little and her fever has NOT come back! We are all so out of sorts after this last week. I am pretty forgetful and grouchy from lack of sleep and down time caring for a sick Lucy. We did manage to remember dying eggs this year. π
Lots of serious coloring and ceativity!
Lucy was more than happy to help. βΊοΈ
Lucy and I skipped out on Church today(for obvious reasons) so I decided to at least dress her in her Easter dress to take pictures for a little bit at home. She was NOT having it though.
This is such a special dress because it was Brianna’s Easter dress when she was a baby. Yesterday, I would have said the dress was ruined because Natalie had it on one of her dolls. It was horribly stained and discolored. Hooray for Oxy! It came clean beautifully and looks brand new. I managed to get one smile…
…and then some serious pics. π She kept staring me and Sam down like we were nuts.
Poor baby girl! I want her happy self back ASAP. When everyone left for church, she slept for over 2 hours. (On me, so I couldn’t move.)
When everyone came home from church, we went to celebrate Easter at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Egg hunt and all.
Lucy enjoyed just staring at her eggs.
After our hunt, we ended the evening celebrating Quinn’s and Shelly’s birthdays. Such a fun night.
We sure LOVE this little sweetheart!
Happy Easter from Little Bunny Lulu!
Standing with a Rash
Lucy wants to go and do things so badly right now, but she is fighting her poor little body so bad. Her rash looks more TERRIBLE as the day goes on. Everytime we think she is going to be fine, she starts her screaming episodes again.
In the middle of all of this, she keeps showing off her standing skills.
Then it quickly catches up with her. Today she has slept A LOT! I am so glad Sam has been home to help hold her, and that she has let him. I love Lucy dearly, but my whole body is so sore from carrying her all week. It needed the break.
These end of the day moments are the best. I am hoping with her going to bed this easily that it means she is feeling better and will sleep well tonight.
What a Difference a Day Makes
With Lucy’s rocephin shot yesterday, her fever has FINALLY broken! She was able to get some good rest last night, which was so nice for all of us.
This little peanut cracks me up, I won’t say being sick has not totally knocked her out, but little times here and there she is pulling crazy stunts like this. π³ Her new favorite thing is to be UP on things. And when she gets up on something, she is usaually very proud of herself and claps for herself. (As long as she doesn’t fall.) Such a turkey!
Since we were unable to attend our Easter egg Hunt on Wednesday, and Jaime and I both had to miss the neighborhood hunt last Sunday, we decided to do a small hunt for the kids at our park, with Briana and her kids too. The kids really had fun, and Lucy even smiled for most of it.
Hadley was making sure Lucy didn’t have her goods. π
Lucy is SO close to just taking off. I love seeing her so proud of herself and smiling. I am ready for her to be well again.
Maybe this darn strep is finally conquered.
So DONE with Strep
This poor baby girl needs a break so bad. Nothing like running a high fever for 4 days straight! She is so exhausted and miserable. She wants to relax and rest but the antibiotics have messed her tummy up so bad, she just cannot get comfortable. Every time I see this face, looks like a smile but is really a grimace, I know she’s about to arch and scream.
We’ve been doing this ever since her second dose of the amoxicillin.
Dr. Lin decided it would probably be better to get an antibiotic shot. With 12+ diarrhea diapers in the last 24hrs, I think I agree. I just hope it helps.
Everything is frustrating her today…
…and I hate seeing her this way!
Holy Hail Storm!
I had finally gotten our very sick little girl to sleep, but we had to rush downstairs because of this…
That is coming down in the front yard.
We had to wait until it completely stopped to take pictures, so we missed some of the HUGE hail balls. THAT BY FAR was the worst hailstorm I have ever been through.
So much hail fell, and so fast, it sounded like it was going to come straight through the roof.
Luckily, Little Miss found her happy spot across my legs and stayed asleep.
Our damage is quite extensive: dented vehicles, busted light and screens, broken fan, busted window frames, beaten fence and gutters, and of course our roof is destroyed. In the aftermath, I’m grateful no windows were broken and that we are all safe.
I don’t ever want to go through that again!
Swimmin’ in the Bathtub
With Lucy being sick, she missed swim class yesterday. She loves swim so much too!
So, since her fever was still really high this morning, I thought it would be fun to take her swimming in our garden tub.
She had a blast, and we both got all wrinkly we stayed in so long. βΊοΈ
I am really starting to get worried about her though. I think her antibiotics are messing up her tummy. We have had SO many poopy diapers today. As the day went on, she started doing these episodes of screaming and balling up in pain. I finally had to put her in the Ergo so she could rest. She looks like she is wearing a cape, but this little super girl is not feeling so super.
By the time night came, Lucy was miserable!
I think it is going to be a LONG night!
