Center of Attention!

I just love these precious little chunky hands. Early in the morning, I can stroke them and kiss them without my little turkey pushing me away. She sure is getting too big too fast!
Today we had storytime in McKinney. Lucy had to watch everything that was going on from the center of the floor. She stood in the middle of the circle, not moving, for about 3 minutes. She is so silly!  When she finally left the center, she participated in her usual fake food eating activities with the rest of the kids. The library has the best assortment of “fruits, veggies, and cheeses!”
Lucy LOVES when the kids get home from school. Mom’s cool, but siblings are better!  Especially when they make Lucy the center of attention.

Hail! Round 2

Holy Moly! This season is horrible! Our poor homes are taking a beating from all these hail storms. The kids and I were at Walmart shopping and we came out to this:

(Photo taken from someone in Denton) We really needed milk from Braums, but I was so glad I listened to Natalie when she said we should go home. The winds were soooo strong they blew apart Lu’s playset. Shannon said that has never happened in all the years they had it. 😳 (That would be 15!)  Everything was a big mess. The hail that came down at our house was golf ball to tennis ball sized. These are how big they were after melting in the yard for about a half an hour.  We are house sitting the Britten’s house, and their house didn’t hold up as well as ours. They lost 3 windows. Then everything looked as though nothing ever happened.  Lu was so worn out from all the excitement (and probably lack of sleep last night) she stayed asleep on her changing table. ☺️

Lucy is Walking!

After being convinced yesterday that Lucy was going to be permanently attached to my right hand, this morning she woke up and decided she was going to walk. All by herself!   She is so funny. She knows when I have the camera now, and often tries to hide from it. (Oh the things that must go through a baby’s head! πŸ˜‚) I kept trying to film her, but she would stop or try and grab the phone from me, turn her back to me, or the video would be horribly out of focus due to the bad lighting. Then, when she finally walked about 10 steps while I was filming, I missed pressing the record button and what I thought was filming I wasn’t! She kept trying out her new skills all day though, so we got several great videos by the end of the day.  Just had to keep her hands distracted with veggie chips and she kept on going.  She had to take a break at the dog bowls though. πŸ˜‚  Maybe THIS is why she would NOT sleep last night! She was up almost every 30 minutes. I think she might have been planning out all her steps. She had to stop and be silly at her mirror and popper too.     Oh this little girl! She cracks me up.

Books, Books, and More Books

Lucy looked so sweet today in Natalie’s little white dress. Brings back memories of when Natalie wore it. It was one of my favorites.☺️    I stayed home from church today because I was super embarrassed about my face and arm. They are turning all weird colors now. I feel a bit better, but my face has gotten more sore as the days have gone on. I definitely feel like I was socked in the nose. Walking and carrying things is a lot easier now though. I  so grateful Lucy is fine. Only her knees are a little bruised. It could have been so much worse.😞 Lucy sure LOVES to read! We will sit for hours reading her books. She especially loves Pat the Bunny. She will make me read it 10 times in a row sometimes. If I stop, she’ll push it in my face until I read it again.   Lucy also LOVES to swing. While I try to be gentle and push her softly, the kids come behind me and give her a thrill ride. I guess I am slightly an over paranoid mom. πŸ˜‚
