Oh how I love the sound of geese flying overhead. I think it is so cool. This season, they fly over our house all the time. Lu loves them too.

“I can’t!” & Singing
Lucy got up this morning and has come up with a new phrase. Obviously someone has been saying this A LOT in our house because she knows exactly how to use it. “Lucy, do you want to eat breakfast?” “I can’t.” “Lucy, can we wash your hands?” “I can’t.” “Do you want to go play outside?” “I can’t.” Oh boy! π Luckily the trend ended around lunchtime. She is so silly. I love how you think she is not paying attention to what is going on, then she repeats some random phrase you just said.
Lucy is REALLY on a singing kick. She is singing almost all the time when someone is not talking to her. It is SO adorable! Today, we had Wiggles on in the van. She was singing “Do the Monkey” so loud, we were all cracking up. There was no way to hold it back. And of course, when she knew we were laughing because of her, she just got louder and sillier. We played outside when we got home, and she was belting out “Rock-a-bye Your Bear.”
“Everybody Clap! Everybody Sing!”
“Bow to your partner…Bears are now asleep-Shh Shh Shh.” I LOVE her! Now if I could just get her to quit eating the flowers! Darn kids told her there is nectar in them, so now she thinks she can eat ALL flowers. π³
Of course she has to test out how “soft” the bench is! π
Climbing on EVERYTHING!
Lucy loves to be up! The more things she can be up on, it is as though she feels she has conquered the world.
Tables are her newest adventure.
Now we have to watch her WAY more closely when she goes outside.
Khaliyah decided to take her own adventure out the door today, and ran down the street to Lexi’s house. They have a German Shepherd. Well Khaliyah thought she was big and brave and stuck her muzzle under their fence and got it bit by Lexi’s dog. Hopefully she will learn from this experience. Khaliyah did come straight home. π
Fun Friday to the Pumpkin Patch
Today started off as a strange day. The skies looked like they were going to dump at any minute, but never really did. Then, all of a sudden, the clouds parted and everything warmed up. With the great weather lately, I thought it would be a great day to go to the pumpkin patch. We invited Nana to join us. We had books to return to the library, so we took Lucy to storytime first. I think she loves reading and playing on the chairs more than actual storytime though. She never wants to leave! And it has to be the big PINK chair for the record.
After we finally got Lucy out of the library, we headed to the pumpkin patch.
Lucy refused to look at me for pictures, so I finally just gave up and took side shots.
Alex and William really enjoyed the hay maze. Lucy was too small to go inside, so we watched from above. Then they locked her in jail.
She actually enjoyed it! πIt is so weird having most of my kiddos grown now. The fun, excitement, and magic of it all is not like it used to be. It sure takes a lot to help the older kids understand that the younger kids still enjoy the simple and sometimes silly things in life. And that’s okay! Lucy LOVED the bounce houses. I think she could have stayed in there all day.
William and Alex enjoyed the merry go round. So glad they can still have one to play on now that most playgrounds say they are too unsafe. Kids need to experience a merry go round!
Alex had to have me measure him. Sure a handsome big boy! βΊοΈ
Nothing beats the Texas heat like covering yourself in chocolate ice cream! Great way to end the day.
Weird!
17 Months Already?!?!!
It is so hard to believe this precious little girl is already 17 Months Old today! Where did all that time go?! Lucy, you just crack us up. Such a funny little girl. We could all squeeze you to pieces. I think you have everyone of us around your little finger. You know it too! If anything goes wrong, you know someone will come running. For a little girl, so shy to actually let people hold you, you have no issue starting up a conversation with someone. As long as they don’t approach you, you will be their best friend. You are such a big girl, in a little girl’s body.
Most things you do and say catch me off guard that they came from a one year old. Some of your funny sayings/ doings: After waking up from your nap in the car, you caught me looking at you in your mirror and said, “Hi Mommy. How are you doing?” If you are dirty, I’ll ask you, “Lucy, are you stinky?” Then you’ll reply, “Poop?—–Check.” You love to blow raspberries on my belly button. Weird? Yes. But so funny, because you will laugh and laugh about it. You LOVE to sing! I wish I could catch you singing without you knowing I am recording you. It is absolutely adorable. You love to sing Wiggles’ songs, especially “Fruit Salad”, “Do the Monkey”, and “D-O-R-O-T-H-drive” as you would say it. π You also LOVE the bean bag song, Old McDonald, and ABCs. You now sing the entire song. (Just catching you on video is tricky. When we try, you stop and ask to watch videos of Maedreigh dancing.βΊοΈ) You can also count to 6. If I start to count and stop, you’ll pick up where I left off. You love to read! Most days, that is what you do for the majority of your day. Your favorite book right now is “The G Book.” That will change soon though. It usually does every week or so. You still really enjoy playing with your baby dolls too, but you prefer interaction with other people over alone time. Your favorite friend is Emma. I have never heard you squeal with so much delight as you have when you see her. It is so adorable. I think she likes you quite a bit too. I love how she treats you like anyone else, even if you are 9 years younger than her. So special to have her across the street.
Being a big kids, is what you want to be, and if you can do what they do, you are thrilled! Happy 17 Months Lucy Lu! Looking forward to many more fabulous adventures in theonth ahead. π
Field Trip to be Eaten by What?!?!…
Yes kids. We are taking a field trip to be eaten by sharks!
Well, not really. But a trip to Bass Pro Shops is the next best thing. William’s choice of adventures today.
Lucy enjoyed examining all the lures. She was like a kid in a candy shop.
She even found ones she did not approve of. We had to have a discussion about throwing merchandise on the floor though.
I love seeing how these big brothers take her under their wings. They love her so much! βΊοΈ
After a long day of playing and Chick-FilAing, I think it ended successfully!
A Spooky Yet Adorable Surprise
Today we came home from running errands to this amazing Halloween surprise outfit! Ms. Brandi and Maedreigh were so sweet and thoughtful to give this to Lucy. It sure made for great pictures with our new yard sign from Grandma and Grandpa. Love it!
To get Lucy to stay in one spot, we gave her some bubbles.
She has gotten great at blowing them…
…and dumping them out too! Little Turkey! (Or I should say, “Little Monster.” π)
Singing, Fishing, and Flossing
Lucy LOVES to sing! She is singing most of the day, and I LOVE IT! Today we went to the park so the boys could fish. Lucy enjoyed just rocking and singing away on the playground equipment.
The boys were very successful at catching fish. I feel super bad that I lost William’s huge largemouth bass before we got a picture though. They sure can bite hard! My finger is pretty sore.
Check out this FAT catfish though!
Even Wesley caught his first fish! Alex had to make sure he didn’t miss the photo op! Silly boy. βΊοΈ
After a night of hard fishing, you just have to floss.
