Dance Day Disaster
Today was Lucy’s last day at dance class. This summer has been an awkward time for dance as compared to the spring. Lucy really never connected with her summer teacher. She has had reservations about her since day 1. I am not sure why. She LOVED Miss Kristen!!!! Even when Miss Kristen came to visit, Lucy was back to enjoying dance. But with Miss Lindsey, it has been pretty miserable on both of us. Sam and the kids came to watch, and we did not even make it 10 minutes into class without issues. Lucy was refusing to do anything she was asked, and kept rolling her eyes at her teacher. I could just feel my blood boiling! Hard to believe a two year old can pack so much attitude. I finally decided it was best for everyone if we just left. Lucy screamed the entire way home, saying she was going to behave, but I wasn’t going to take anymore chances. She said that the first time we went in the hallway. It is just so sad to me because she LOVES to dance at home. She is dancing, twirling, and singing all the time. We will be looking for a new dance class come fall. I would love if she could go back to Red Door. She just has to be able to be okay without me for the class. It’s all a work in progress. Brandi managed to get these two super cute pictures of Lucy and Maedreigh in the probably only 2 minutes of Lucy actually cooperating today.

Splash Day/Play Day with Brinlee and Miss KristiΒ
We were invited to a special toddler day at Splash Kingdom in Greenville by Miss Brandi and Miss Kristi. Unfortunately, Miss Brandi got sick, so she and Maedreigh were not able to come. We missed them tons, and hope they can make it next time.
We got to the park a bit earlier than Miss Kristi, so we tested the water a bit before she and Brinlee got there.
Was probably not the best idea, though, because the first slide I took Lucy down shot water up in our faces. After that, Lucy did not want much to do with being in the water. It also didn’t help having it be super windy and in the low 80s. It was chilly! Brinlee did not seem bothered by any of it. She was quite the swimming queen.
She jumped, and slid, and had lots of fun.
Lucy on the other hand, fell asleep!
I was even ablento lay her down in a chair, while I changed, and put her in her car seat without waking her.
Silly Goose! When we got to Chick fil-A, that all changed. She ate, and played, slid down the slide…
…and ate ice cream for a treat. We had a great time! It was so fun to be able to have some play time with Brinlee before she welcomes her new baby sister next month. Exciting times are coming ahead. π
Long Time, No Ducks
It has been so hot this summer, we have not ventured out to feed the ducks at the pond. Morning, or night, there is not much relief from the heat. Today, however, it seemed a bit cooler, so we took our chances and went.
It was a fabulous evening! We watched Gandoff catch fish…
…And the ducks & geese were very hungry.
Besides the chiggers and mosquitoes, it was a trip well worth it!
Lu-Da-Boss Makes Her Debut
I love when the kids complain about having nothing to do. We have a house full of all kinds of games and activities, yet take away all electronics, and the fun ends. Today, they were upset with us about being bored, and then this happened!:
Imagination clicked on and they disappeared for hours creating this incredible little masterpiece of a car for Lucy.
Specially equipped with its own “Lu-Da-Boss” license plate.
It was so cute! They even dressed Lucy up in her “riding gear” for her rides.
Amazing what a little being bored can do. π
Playstreet Popsicle Party with Daddy
We’ve been wanting to show Daddy what Playstreet is all about, but its hours never work with his work schedule. I was super excited when we were invited to this special SATURDAY event. We all had a blast!
We painted with popsicles, colored popsicles,
and even ate popsicles! Lucy LOVED chocolate, and was one of the only kids who sat there to finish the entire thing! π€£ (Big mess and all!)
She played in buses, stores, with babies, food, blocks, and tubes.
Lucy loved serving up ice cream at the ice cream shop to all its “customers.”
Her favorite was Daddy.
When playtime was over, we made a quick stop for some Costa Vida deliciousness. It was a great way to end a fabulous adventure.
