Alex wants to do big kid things so very bad. This morning, he was heating up water in the microwave for his oatmeal. He went to grab the mug out of the microwave, which is still a tad to high for him, and dumped the mug of hot water all down the front of himself. I am so grateful that I was standing right behind him at the sink. If I was not, this could have been a lot worse. He froze in one spot screaming. I immediately stripped him of his clothes to try and get any remaining heat away from his skin. His entire abdomen was scalded. Luckily, Nate had a bottle of aloe gel with lidocaine in it. I made Alex lay on the couch with washcloths dipped in ice water draped over him. Then we rubbed him down with the aloe gel. After about an hour, this is what was left of his burn.He was still sore for most of the day, but very minimally compared to when it first happened.
