What a great way to end the first semester of preschool today. Lucy had a singing performance in class first, and then had treats, games, and a craft with her teachers and friends. Aside from her finger up her nose during her first song 😱, she belted out the rest, complete with dance moves and hand motions. 🤣 She’s a crazy little mess. 😊❤️
Ms. Natalie made this adorable snowman toss game. It was a huge hit with all the kids!
We made snowmen cheesesticks this go round. It seems like snowmen are our theme this Christmas.
The class had reindeer juice, reindeer brownies, Grinch Claus Fruit skewers, and oatmeal cream pies. It was perfect since they had just eaten lunch 45minutes before the party, and had their chocolate milk bar at the Polar Express earlier in the morning.
The kids made these cute Nativity crafts to help remind them of the true meaning of Christmas.
Lucy absolutely LOVES her Ms. Emily!
She loves her Ms. Amanda too, even though she can be a stinker to her sometimes. She even kept telling her, “Merry Christmas!” over and over again as we were heading out the door. We sure LOVE our GPA! So grateful for this amazing school and for all the love and dedication they have given our crazy Lu! We are truly blessed to have them.

Lucy’s First Haircut
Lucy’s hair has gotten so crazy and out of control! It is so fine, and still pretty sparse, it really needs a boost. So, we decided to take the plunge and give her her first haircut. I researched out who was great with little Kids2 did decided to go to Sweet ad Sassy. All my other kids had theirs done at Kids Cuts & Curls in Allen, but their reviews now are horrible.
Lucy loved feeling like a big girl and getting to sit in her own special haircut chair. She has watched the boys several times, but her chair was special for her. It even had magic fairy dust, like Miss Kristen has, all over it.
Lucy did amazing! She was so still and patient. I am so grateful i have never had a screamer for haircuts. Lucy is by far my easiest kid for doing hair though. I guess it makes up for her many other crazy areas. 😉
Her new cut is SO cute! Not too much off, and cleaned up the frizzies and flyaways.
They even gave her her first braid, beautiful hair fairy dust, and a glitter stamp on her hand. She was one happy princess.
Afterwards, we did a quick change and headed over to Bass Pro Shop to try and get her pictures taken with Santa. Crazy idea! It was SO crowded! We waited in line for 20 minutes, and only 2 kids saw Santa in that time. We would have been there all day with the 30+ people ahead of us still needing to go first.
So we danced, played, looked around, and then decided we would try and come back onWednesday morning before it opened to get in line.
The boys had to give Lucy a few shooting lessons before we left, but were happy to get out of there!
I just can’t get over how adorable her hair looks! The boys said she looks like a little elf. I think they mean that as a compliment. 😁 Now to get them in a picture! They both got haircuts as well.
Neighborhood Christmas Party Rain Storm
I don’t think we have had one of our main events this fall/winter NOT have rain and or freezing cold! The crazy thing is that it usually is gorgeous right up to it!
We still had a great time at this year’s neighborhood Christmas Party! It was super cold and drizzly, but nothing hot chocolate and cookies couldn’t help. Quinn, Miller, and Hayleigh joined us for the fun too!
The Christmas train was the wildest ride ever! We were just glad we weren’t on the ride that hit the curb and lost half the cars from the engine!😱
We grabbed some hot cocoa before heading in line to see Santa and Mrs. Claus.
And then Lucy fell asleep. 🙄 Oh well. The bigger little kids got their chance to visit.
They had a blast deciding what we would wear for our crazy Santa pictures. Poor Santa and Mrs. Claus are practically covered up! 🤣 Then Lucy woke up because everyone around was laughing so hard. She managed a half “Smile for the camera!” at the very end. So great!
The kids all got amazingly filled stockings from their visit, and then we rushed home to warm up and stay dry. The rain really started to come down as we left.
Everyone grabbed another cup of hot chocolate at home, then a quick bite to eat before heading out the door.
Big kids were all off to see Star Wars, and just the little girls and I were staying home to play.
Anniversary Adventures Year 21
It is so hard to believe Sam and I have been married for 21 years! When people ask us how long we have been married, our answer makes them look at us like we have three heads. I guess that’s a good thing, right?! Sam was in charge of planning this year. Since Lucy is getting better at staying with other people, Sam planned an overnight getaway to the Anatole. However, with crazy school schedules, we got a very late start on leaving. I was so exhausted, i didn’t really want to wait for dinner in an overcrowded restaurant until late into the night. So, we grabbed a nice quite dinner at Great Wall. It was great! No rush. Whatever we wanted to eat. I have to say, sometimes the glitz and glamor is overrated. We were going to see the light displays in downtown Dallas afterwards, but it just got too late. To top it off, we got caught in a major accident’s traffic for almost an hour trying to get to the hotel. It was so nice to finally just get there.
We walked around and enjoyed all the beautiful holiday decorations throughout the hotel. It was practically empty! I was really surprised.
Sam and I found a fantastic little cafe that served Caramel and Marshmallow brownies that were to die for! Luckily Sam and I split one because having my own might have actually done me in. 😜
We ate our treats and just enjoyed our time to talk together without being interrupted. It was fabulous! I sure love our children, but sometimes that is just what a mom and dad need.We also were amazed to watch this incredible sculpture on the ceiling. It moved to the music, but we figured most people didn’t even know it moved because it did it so slowly.https://ilovelucymarie.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/img_9568.movIt truly was a wonderful evening!
Ending Story-time for the Year

Laughing at Lashes
Getting Lucy to sit still enough for an in focus picture lately is absolutely impossible. Tonight as she climbed on my desk to watch Franklin, I caught her sitting super still. I noticed how long her eye lashes are when you can actually see them! She didn’t even know I was getting a photo. 😏
