I don’t know a much scarier announcement than to hear a fire has broken out on the mountain above your home. For us, our build was declared delayed for another month the day before we heard the news. However, our best friends and many new friends live in our soon to be city. What started out as a small lightening fire, went to a massive mountain range engulfing fire in a few days.
The many firefighters, airmen, and forestry service workers did an incredible job getting things under control with horrendous winds, very hot temperatures, and very a dry atmosphere.
These images were taken from the plane as I flew back into Utah from Dallas. My phone was horrible at taking night pictures!

Once evacuation orders were lifted for Elk Ridge and Woodland Hills, we went to check on our lot. Such a humbling experience to see so much of the mountains still green. (I was terrified that they were all going to be charred.)
