Lucy was SO excited to see “Khaliyah” when we went to visit our house today. It will be nice to get to know this sweet dog’s real name when we move in. For now, Lucy calls it Khaliyah. (Very original.) I just hope our Khaliyah can be friends with it. We visited a new storytime library today also. Lucy was a bit shy and apprehensive. They sang songs, read books, and played musical instruments.
At the end, they created these cute circus train crafts. Lucy enjoyed it and didn’t want to leave.
We will go check out the other two library systems in the area soon. There are so many options to visit.

Baby Chicks and Ducks Season
It is chick and duckling season. The stores are filling up with all these cute creatures and Lucy thinks we need to bring them all home. Too bad there are no such things as creatures that stay cute little babies forever.
They are super cute. But I know what they grow up into. Lots of work and a big mess. Maybe one day, when the kids are older, we can get a coupe and some hens. Maybe.
βShhh. Close Your Eyes.β
When we came home from the park, Lucy wanted to stay outside and play on her “mountain” as she calls it. (Really the sloping part of my brother’s front landscaping.)
I went to ask her if she wanted to come inside (since it was a bit cold) and our conversation went like this:
Lucy: “No Mom. I’m hiking on my mountain.”
Me: “But it is getting pretty cold.”
Lucy: “Shh! Close your eyes. I have a surprise for you. But you have to keep your eyes closed.”
Me: “Okay.”
Lucy: “You Can’t Peek Mom!”
Me: “Okay.”
(I did peek without her looking and she was making paw prints in the snow with her hands. π)
Lucy: “Look Mom! We’re having a picnic. Here are some delicious berries. Look! There are tracks! AAAAAHHHH! It’s a bear! Get over there bear! You can’t take our berries! Or our honey from the honey fairy!”
I love her little imagination (and sometimes the sass that comes with it). We “chased” the bear a bit, but it didn’t take long for her to get cold and want to go inside. I am super excited for her to truly have a space of her own to play and imagine. All the kids are so ready for that!
Finally, A Park Day Without Snow
It has been so cold and snowy for a while. Going outside for any extended period of time has not been possible with out snowsuits, gloves, and boots. We have chosen to do lots of indoor activities instead. But, today was a gorgeous day that we could not pass up taking a trip to the park.
Blue skies and sunshine! It was fabulous!
I think Lucy made us go down the slide over 20 times! She was in heaven.
William was trying to teach Lucy “how to fly.” The paranoid mom in me was terrified that she was going to flip off.
Sam has always had the best time being goofy with our kids swinging. Lucy is no exception. Alex he a great time pushing Lucy “into Dad.” She thought she was the toughest swinger ever.
Thank goodness Sam is a good actor. No one was actually injured in the action. π
Sister Selfies
When these girls get together with your phone, you never know what you’ll find.

Silly girls! I love that the two of them can laugh and play together.β€οΈ
Saturday Morning with Brie
It’s like a big tease. We keep going down south to see the house, only to find it tented like a big present. I can’t wait to see it completed.
This morning, we drove down to put more items in storage and to get some measurements for our refrigerator. We are hoping it fits. π€π»
The mountains were so beautiful! They even had hot air balloons going up. After a trip to Home Depot, we grabbed Brie from her apartment and took her to breakfast.
It was very nice to laugh and just have some one on one time with only her. It was a nice way to start the morning.
Lovinβ Luvabella
Miss Paige is getting married! To celebrate, the girls had special cookies after class today. Leave it to Lucy to not want to eat her cookie. She has worked so hard with her schoolwork this week, I promised her that she could get a treat after class. She thought if she ate a cookie, she wouldn’t be able to get the treat I promised her. At least she is learning that we shouldn’t have too many treats at a time. (She got to have the cookie and her treat later, just this one time. π )
When we made it home, Lucy was so very excited to play with her Luvabella doll! This was the ONLY thing Lucy wanted for Christmas. We were so very disappointed to have it come out of the box broken! Knowing that the return date was about to expire, i had to sneak broken Luvabella out of the house super early this morning, while Lucy was still sleeping, and exchange it for an unbroken one. Luckily, the store had one in stainless and was super nice about the return. Lucy was thrilled when she woke up and Luvabella was working!
She played with her all afternoon. Feeding her. Rocking her. Tickling her. SO adorable! I’m so glad she really likes her. The boys are also glad “creepy Luvabella” is gone. It was pretty scary to come in a room with her mouth going sidewards and her voice stuck on repeat. Glad the new one works great!
The Little Mermaid
We went to see The Little Mermaid on stage today at the Wagner Theater in downtown Salt Lake.
Lucy was super excited. William, not so much, but was a great sport. It got him out of pre-algebra and language arts for the day, so that was a plus.
The performance was good, but had a lot of technical difficulties with the sound system. I felt very bad for the performers. Many times, you couldn’t hear them at all. I guess we are getting to know the venues. After the performance, we had to rush to Provo to buy our dining set, then to Payson to put it in storage, and then all the way back north before I had to work. With a wreck delaying by 50mins, I made it running in, right on time. What an adventure of a day. Lucy is looking forward to seeing Beauty and the Beast in a few weeks. Hopefully it will be much better.
Puppy Love
“Yes Brie! Your dog is taken care of very well.”
Nighttime Challenges
Late night shopping trips are great if you don’t make a huge mess all down the dairy isle and come outside to find your vehicle has been enduring a blizzard.
The bed will be a welcomed spot when I get home! π€£
