Natalie had her very first cheer competition tonight. I won’t go into the details of before the competition, as teenage girl-ness and hormones added together can give any mom fits, but she managed to pull it off well.
Natalie had to sacrifice school cheer this year due to our move. It has been a very rough and emotional time. She also had to turn down two invitations for upper level competition cheer squads because we didn’t know our new house completion details to commit to a full year of competition cheer. It has definitely been a humbling experience for her. We found a cheer gym that would allow her to cheer on their prep team that ends mid spring. (Less of a time commitment if we move.) This squad, however, consists of experienced girls, as well as beginner little ones. 5year olds. Natalie was quite humiliated in the beginning, and threw quite a huge fit. Luckily with some time, she grew to understand that sometimes you have to be the helper, instead of everyone always helping you. She has grown a lot over the past several months. Her team won’t be stellar while she is with it, but they are hard workers and try their best to do the very best they can with what they have. I think that matters more than anything else.

For this performance, they did really well. I cannot wait to see what they accomplish in a couple months for the next one.

And The Snow Came Back
Just when all the snow had melted, it all came back in a few hours!
It started around 11, and by 1, it was piled high.
This is an all new way to get used to spring for us!
A Pizza Kind Of Night
Dad is in Texas, so we thought we’d do a fun dinner night. We tried out a new pizza recipe from online, and it was actually quite good.
Alex, Wii, and Lucy got regular dough.
Mom and Natalie tried out the whole wheat dough. It was great!
Just can’t stay awake!
Poor baby girl was waiting for me to read books and didn’t last. Washing dishes takes too long some nights.
Bring a Friend to Dance Day
I’ve got to say, Miss Paige sure knows how to make dance fun! She is so expressive. It’s going to be so hard to move from this class.
Today was bring a friend to class day. Lucy decided to bring Eadie. The girls were so excited.
No one else brought a friend, so Eadie was quite a hit. She had amazing moves too!
Parents were only able to stay the last 15 mins of class, but I could tell they definitely had a blast. Lots of hopping…
…Chasing…
…and Animal Action.
