Super Snacks for Preschool

Pinterest has proved invaluable again at ideas for Lucy’s school snack. Today, Itsy Bitsies and Little Frankies are heading off to class.Little Frankie turned out looking a bit more like Om Nom from Candy Crush because I couldn’t find larger plastic cups with lids in any store. But oh well. I still think they came out adorable. Now to put them to the real test. 😉

Aren’t We “Going Bonkers” Enough?!?

Scary way to wake up! (Pumpkin Sticker Face! 🤣)Natalie was off from school today for Columbus Day, so we decided to go have a bit of fun. The kids all agreed to go to Going Bonkers. There were quite a few kids there, so Lucy wanted to roam outside of the playstructure most of the time we were there.I was totally fine with that! (My knees always come home with a million bruises after theses types of places.)The kids had a great time.We had to make sure we got back at a reasonable time since Lucy had dance class still. She is now in the Ballet,Tap, Jazz class with Miss Kristen, and doing FABULOUS! I was SO worried about her screaming and crying for me, but no such thing happened! She loves it! I am so glad our separation anxiety is finally leaving!I love that she can explore and enjoy her time on her own sometimes.

SELAH Family Picnic

Today was our SELAH Family Picnic. I only managed to get one picture though because we were running around chasing kids, eating, or meeting all the other SELAH families. We met some fabulous people and it makes me so very excited to be part of this group. Alex made an instant friend from the start, then we barely saw him the whole time we were there. Lucy wanted to be one of the big kids. I am so grateful William kept her safe, but still allowed her to have fun with the older kids. (Maybe one day she will realize it’s okay being 2! 😜)

Let the Fall Fun Begin!

While Dad was camping with William, and Natalie was playing volleyball, I took the little kids to the Home Depot Kids Workshop this morning. Today they were making a fire station bank. Alex and Lucy really did a great job! Alex needed very little help to get his done.Lucy was quite the painter! I just had to make sure it stayed off her clothes. We have a long time to go before Halloween! After some amazing building, we picked up William from camp and headed off to our neighborhood fall festival. The kids got to decorate pumpkins with foam sticker faces. They came out so cute!Fir lunch, they had corn dogs, chips, Jimmy Johns subs, and Cotton Patch Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake for dessert. This little one managed to eat the entire piece without getting a drop on her clothes! Never would happen again if we tried!William LOVED flying with Lu down the slides. He always brings out her best laughs! There were a few games around the party zone (Not as many as last year though)and the kids kept coming back to the frisbee toss. I think they gave out the most treats! 😏After wearing us all out with Fall Festival fun, Alex STILL had a soccer game to play.He did awesome as always! Lucy even cheered him on an took his pictures. 😜At least he made it into this picture. 😉

National Night Out 2017    In The Rain!

Our Mel Science kits came in the mail and the boys were so eager to try out the experiments. It is so nice to have Lucy at preschool a couple days to allow us to do crazy chemistry without a toddler about. Fire + Toddler = No Good! These sugar snakes were really cool! They came with a bit of a learning curve (Mom melting some crucial components), but we finally made some great ones! After we grabbed Lu from school, Natalie had a game to cheer at. Unfortunately, it looked like the forecast was not in any of our favors. We waited for a bit at the stadium to see what would transpire. Rain! Lots of rain! But the girls cheered anyways. We had National Night Out and it was SO wet! I didn’t even grab an umbrella OR the stroller. 😳We took shelter in the fire truck……and under the PTSA pavilion. Then under the park pavilion with about a million other people! At least there were treats under there! It was sad that it rained because this is one of our most looked forward to nights of the year. Lucy was wanting to ride the ponies, but we had to settle for only  the Train. She was all smiles! The rain finally even let up for the firework show. Wet night, but in the end we had a blast! 😁

Apple Day with Daddy

Sam had his date day today with Lucy. While he went to Apple Adventures at Play Street, I got to enjoy Alex playing soccer uninterrupted. He has come such a long way over the year! He is awesome at obtaining the ball from his opponents! He is also scoring at least once in his games too!Lucy had a great time with Daddy! I am so glad Play Street opens these Saturday slots so parents who work can take their kiddos. Lucy LOVES Play Street!Sam was cracking up because Lucy thought this calculator was a phone. It was HUGE! Yep, we can surely tell our generation gap. Any kid from our day would know the difference! 🤣Lucy and Daddy learned all about apples. They even got to make apple curls……and fresh apple juice. I think Lucy approved! When they came home, Lucy refused to get out of the van as usual. She always wants to “get out so I dont get out!” Sam and I escaped for the evening to Joes. The clouds were so amazing. A picture doesn’t really do them justice, but I know if Brie were here, she would approve.

Puppets and Future Pirate Night

Storytime was a puppet show today, and I have to say they rocked it! The puppets, and kids, all jammed out to The Beetles “Yellow Submarine.” The Wylie Library does such an amazing job for the kids of our community. After storytime and Park day, it was Home for a quick rest and then off to Future Pirate Night at Wylie Stadium. It is awesome that the schools recognize all the upcoming athletes to the high schools. It sure helps the kids get excited about moving up.Wylie sure knows how to put on a show!I can’t believe Lucy slept through the entire first part of it all!Natalie did an amazing job cheering, and loved being on the big field! After having taken such a late nap, Lucy came home WIDE AWAKE! While the rest of us were ready to go to bed, she just wanted to hang out in the bathroom and read.I guess there could be worse things she could be doing. 😏 I’ll keep it!

Making “Soup”

Lucy loves to dig in the dirt. The boys planted flower seeds in the pots on her table months ago, but no flowers ever came. Thank goodness, because Lucy has claimed the dirt as her own now.Today she was making soup for her and Maedreigh. Looks… well… …interesting! (Not sure I’d want to try it. 😏)
