Ewww Yuck! Snakes!

Went went to Snake Encounters at the library this morning. I have to admit, I was not super excited to go, but I knew the kids would be.It was actually very entertaining. (Even Bryce stayed enthralled. 😊)Poor Stephen and Wesley got scared though, and made their mom take them home. I felt so very sad for them. Wesley was so scared she was shaking. Luckily it wasn’t as crowded as the Zoofari. They were able to sneak out easily. We all learned a lot about different snakes, especially the ones to be cautious of in Texas. Also, this ball python amazed me at how docile it actually is.Once the show was over, the little kids were dying to turn in their summer reading logs. I am having a hard time keeping up with all their reading! They are such book worms!Next, it’s off to the aquarium!

Play Street Grand Opening

We were invited a few months ago to this special day of the Grand Opening of Allen’s Play Street. I was so nervous when Lucy got sick last week that we were going to have to miss it. Luckily, with a little antibiotics started on Friday, she has turned around so well and was able to go.Poor Lu still looked horribly pale, but every bit of her spunk and sass was back. She totally enjoyed making meals for the babies. But best of all, she liked the ice cream truck, with her favorite play ice cream ever! The Floam sure made some awesome snakes!Too bad as we played, I noticed her breaking out in hives!Yes, she is allergic to Omniceph. Back to the doctor we went to be switched to a different antibiotic. Hopefully this one will work as well to keep her better, but not make her SO itchy. After such a wild past week, I was really having a horrible time. My great friend Brandi saved the day and had these amazing brownies special delivered. It made my day, and a lot of others’ too! We couldn’t appreciate it more!❤️

Homeschool Celebration

Today was our Homeschool Recognition Celebration at the Fowles’ house. We all got to honor our kids with what they accomplished this past year, both academically and character wise. Sam stayed home with Lu, since we are not sure if she is still contagious. I was sad they had to miss, but we didn’t want to share germs. The kids really did great this year. It was a learning year for us all with Lucy. But I look forward to what is ahead. It is firework season in the Metroplex, and after we got home from the Fowles’, we were able to watch 2 firework shows from my bedroom window. Both Allen and Southfork had their tonight and it was a great end to a fabulous day. Even Lucy got to celebrate in the end. 😊

Sick, sick, sick!

Crazy to think we were in the doctor’s office yesterday for Alex’s ear, and then Lucy wakes up early this morning flaming hot with a 102.5 temperature. No wonder she was being such a pill yesterday! I feel super bad that Lucy played with Jada for almost the entire duration of the Relief Society activity last night. Hopefully she did not get her sick!

Rainy Day Trip to the Mall

It started raining really early this morning. Usually Monday is our morning swimming trip with friends, but we chickened out. I thought it would be really cold. (I was proven wrong later. 😏) We chose a trip to the mall instead.Lucy fell in love with “Trooper Trooper” at the Lego Store. She sure cracks me up with all her posing “Cheese” smiles! 🤣We walked around quite a bit, but soon realized we had missed lunch. We headed to the food court. Of course it was Chick Fil-A for the kids. Afterwards, we took Lu to the Disney Store.I think she could live here. She kept finding every nook and cranny to get herself into. They have a cute little storytime that the kids all participated in. After it was over, they were given medals, and a passport book to put all their earned patches in. After the Disney Store, we played in Pottery Barn Kids for a bit, then got a treat before we left. Lucy chose 5 gummy bears from Lolli & Pops. (A pretty cool vintage candy store!) Natalie had a custard from Sonic, and William and I both got gelato. William was so surprised when he found this chocolate chip. He said it looked like a dolphin. He made me get a pic of it. 🤣 When we left the mall, we rushed home to go to the pool. It turns out, the pool was actually very warm. Today was a fabulous day!

Happy Father’s Day Sam!

The kids and I got up early this morning, when Sam got in the shower, to make him a special breakfast. Lucy and Alex made him an omelet. William made bacon, and Natalie made Nutella crescent rolls. The kids decorated balloons for him, and made a special place at the table. I think he really liked it. We forgot to get a picture of his special gift though, a Death by Chocolate box! The kids know how much he LOVES chocolate (especially dark chocolate!), so they wanted to get as many things dark chocolate as would fit in a box. It was a huge hit! After church, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to celebrate with them.We got Grandpa some vintage collectible vinyl albums. He was so excited.Lucy was really excited to watch him open them too. After presents, we went to visit Shelly’s new town home. It is very pretty. We were treated with ice cream and then headed home. It has been a super busy weekend!

Princess Lu

It has been so nice today having Natalie help with Lucy. I’ve been trying to get all my Divine Consign stuff ready, and Natalie has taken and kept Lu occupied playing dress-up. Big sisters can be great!

Tired?!

I guess so! When she falls asleep on an office chair, I guess that’s a good indicator. Poor thing has been running all day! With storytime, then playtime. Too bad we have to wake up soon for  Alex’s game.
