I’m so glad Lucy let’s me do her hair with no complaining. Her hair is still thickening up , so it would be a disaster if she had a tender head.
We went to our first Music and Movement class today. That was definitely a TON of movement.
Lucy was quite shy throughout most of it, and clung to my leg.
But towards the end, she branched out and started dancing and singing.
She especially loved the last song, a variation of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. All the kids got a handful of glow in the dark stars and they turned the lights off while the music played and the kids sang.
Lucy had a wonderful time. We will definitely come back again. It will just be a few weeks before our schedule calms down again.

Starting a New Dance Class
Well, here goes nothing. Trying to find a replacement for our previous dance studio is going to be pretty hard. I have been watching this new studio for a while. When i went in to check out classes last week and found that they were full until next year, I think you could have picked up my jaw off the floor. I was so sad. The other schools I have researched are either a pretty far drive, or don’t really have what I’m looking for. I was shocked when we got home to have a voicemail from the studio. They had a student just withdraw from classes and were offering Lucy the opening. I jumped on the opportunity, so she started today!
She did amazing and I already LOVE her teacher!!!! Her teacher is very strict, very different from Miss Paige. But at this age, it is great for them to learn to stay focused and listen. (Helps to get them ready for school. IN A YEAR! π±π)
Lucy definitely got her workout. It wasn’t long after we got home, she crashed! When she woke up, she was super excited to color her technique sheet from class.
I think this is going to be a great transition for Lucy.
Treat Street
I LOVE our neighborhood! Our neighbors have all been so kind and welcoming. They have even offered help when it looked like we needed it. I am SO happy to be here!
Today, the neighborhood held an event called Treat Street. Each month, a street is assigned and hosts the rest of the neighborhood to come mingle and have treats.
It was so much fun. Lots of treats, lots of kids, and lots of great introductions. We learned a ton about the area and got to meet some great families.
Cookies for Cash
A super sad day for our friends down the street. Their sweet dog, Cash, who we just saw 3 days ago, fell into their window well and died. We are so sad for them. To help them have a better day, we thought it would be a good idea to make them some smiley cookies. Lucy totally got into it! (Literally! π€£)
I hope they like them. They were definitely made with lots of love.
Checking Out the New Library
It was a rainy day, today, so the thought it was a good day to check out the new library. It was really great. The entire bottom floor is dedicated children’s area. They even have playrooms around the perimeter. We checked out lots of books and Lucy got one of the educational backpacks. Fancy Nancy Ballet this time.
She felt like such a big girl with her backpack.
Still a little girl who likes to play chase with Mom too. (Please don’t grow up too quick!)
We had to run by the store on the way home. Lucy ALWAYS has to play with these little princess dolls EVERY TIME we come. If I go through the self check lane, I’m the worst mom ever. Lucy has been working so hard to complete her princess chart. She has 2 more books to read before she can finally get one of her own.
We got Natalie some flowers for her big tryout tonight! She has wanted to be back on a cheer team for over a year! Fingers crossed!
βI Found a Wormie.β
It was snowing on our walk with the dog this morning. Along the hiking path, all these earthworms were coming out. However, many of them were frozen to the ground and dead. Lucy was convinced that they were just sleeping and wanted to come to her house.
Enter 3 new pets into the house. π€¦πΌββοΈ Luckily we found a few live ones as we finished our walk. ( I switched them out with the not so live ones.)
Lucy was very happy.
A Bit of Wolven Love
Wolven has become an instant friend. Lucy loves to walk down the street to say, “Hi!” and give Wolven hugs. He is one heat dog! I’m glad Khaliyah and Wolven get along too.
Today, they are grading our yard. Lucy loved to watch the back hoe dig and scrape our ground.
Hopefully this means grass soon! (This dirt and mud is EVERYWHERE!)
Dancing in the Sunshine
Whenever there is music and an open space, Lucy usually asks for her dance shoes. This little girl LOVES to dance!!!
And she loves to try an mimic other people. (Especially Natalie. π) Lucy’s still working on her splits too.
Add some sunshine, and it’s a beautiful, dancing, jumping, spinning kind of day.

Trying to Find βBraumsβ
One big complaint from the kids about moving to Utah is that there is NO Braums! Yes, great dairy milk and inexpensive delicious ice cream is pretty nice. So, we are trying to find a similar replacement.
I can truly say, it hasn’t happened yet. The kids have now said that they will bring several coolers on vacation with us, to bring back as much Braums as they can. That should be interesting.
Pure Joy!
Reuniting this girl and her stuffed animals has been priceless. She’s been having tea parties and campouts all day. I love seeing her so happy and excited.
