Backward Frustration

I love when I catch Alex being cute with Lucy. He loves her so much! I was cleaning up in the kitchen and could hear him playing peek a boo with her. ☺️

If only Lucy could figure out how to go forward, life around our house would be so pleasant. She is just so frustrated.
When everything keeps getting further and further from her, I don’t blame her.  She usually ends up under something, like the piano, or laying her head down in defeat.

Visiting Our New Ward

Today was our first time to visit our new ward at church. It was a little weird not seeing all the usual families. I think we will eventually like the new normal. It is just going to take a bit of time. Lucy was fabulous at church, just loud! She loves to hear her voice echo in the big building. Not the best thing for reverence. A little better when she could get her wiggles out at home. She loves her new Frozen car from Grandma & Grandpa.

Saturday Snuggles and Play

We sure know how to wear out a baby!         I have to say I totally don’t mind the morning cuddles though. I know they won’t last too much longer.
Lucy sure enjoyed playing with all her new gadgets today. She had something new to entertain her in every spot we went.

A Very Merry Christmas

Yeah, we slept in this morning. Even the kids didn’t wake us up. I think everyone in the family has been going nonstop.    Grandma & Grandpa came over for breakfast. The kids looked in their stockings, ate breakfast, then searched for baby Jesus.       Lucy loved the excitement. William found baby Jesus this year, so he was able to open the first gift. He was thrilled!     Even Khaliyah got spoiled. Too bad she tore hers up.

Bubba helped Lucy open her presents.      So much excitement called for a nap.  Then Lucy had a little more play time before we headed to Grandma’s. At  Grandma’s, the big kids played outside…

…and rode go karts.   Lucy played inside until the big play room reveal……a new PS4 and TV to see it on. We had some very excited kids! Our family was greatly blessed this year.

Happy Christmas Eve!

This Christmas has been quite different than most. With Lucy and I being sick for so long, a lot of our usual Christmas traditions have been skipped. No Christmas cards were mailed. No nativity party. No caroling and treats delivered. We only looked at lights from Grand Prairie lights. Usually we go multiple times. Presents were all bought at the last possible minute. The nice thing, it has been fabulous so far! As cruddy as I have felt, and Lucy too, there has been joy in the simpleness of the season. I am so grateful for all the blessings we have been given and for my fabulous family! They are my joy in this season.

First we read our nativity story with Brie. Then, we opened our Christmas pajamas and new ornaments for this year. Lucy couldn’t get hot chocolate or caramel popcorn, so she got Mum Mums and Veggie Puffs. Next we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for Christmas Eve Dinner.    The Girls looked so cute!  And YES, we even cooked Shrimp on the Barbie in Decemeber! Crazy 80 degree Texas weather!  After dinner, the kids put on their Christmas  pjs and had their treats. Lucy was playing and we were trying to get her picture. We gave her an unopened package of M&Ms to distract her. Bad idea! Those new little chompes made it right through the package. She was very upset when we had to take it away.  Grandma got Wubble Balls for the kids. They were so excited.          After reading Luke 2,watching our annual Christmas video, and singing Christmas carols, we went home and made our birthday cake for baby Jesus.  Enough excitement for one day. πŸ˜‰

Alex Loses his First Tooth

Nothing like Alex walking up to me in the middle of holiday craziness and just sweetly telling me, “Here Mom.I lost my tooth.” It took a moment for me to process what he said. He was so unbothered by it. ☺️  Of course the question about tooth money came not long after. πŸ˜‚

Finding Places to Wedge

I love when Lu sleeps in so happily!  Today I had a bit of last minute shopping to do. Lucy stayed with Daddy, and was one happy little girl.   When I came home this evening, Lucy was showing off her moving skills. She has mastered backwards! She just gets so frustrated when what she wants gets further and further away. At least her tummy time is increasing a little.    Now she is enjoying finding places to squeeze into. πŸ˜‚

Toothy Tuesday

It is so nice having Brianna home! Everyone has been so happy. She really brings such joy to our family. This morning we snuck away to bring the dog to the groomer and to get some groceries. When we got home, we found out poor Lucy was running a temperature. I just feel so bad for Lu. She has been stuffy for so long now! We have missed 2 weeks of swim already, and now will have to miss 2 more because of the holidays. Sam bought me and Brie tickets to see A Christmas Carol. After running home to nurse Lucy and cuddle her for a bit, Brie and I went to the show. It was fabulous! DTC really does a great job! When we came home, Lucy was incredibly smiley. For as sick as she has been, the biggest thing affected has been her sleep. Otherwise she has been so sweet and happy. Her fever seemed to be gone. After checking her, it confirmed she had no fever. Then I started to wonder if something else was up. I looked in her mouth with my phone flashlight, and sure enough, Tooth #2 had completely broken through. Maybe this has been the main cause of her discomfort. When I called to Sam to come see Lucy’s tooth, Natalie rushed in saying she just lost a tooth. Then Alex hurried in saying his first tooth was about to fall out. What a Toothy Tuesday! πŸ˜‚
