We took Khaliyah to the vet today in an attempt to get her groomed before Brie comes home. However, because she is so spastic and will not let anyone come near her with any sort of device, she has to be sedated first. To sedate her, the vet has to make sure she is healthy. While we were there, I got a call from the school telling me I needed to come and pick up Alex. Such a nice thought, but baby and dog at the vet in Rowlett, it would take me about an hour to get to him. So, I called Sam and he left work to bring Alex home. This darn cold is taking us all out one by one. When we all got home, I just had to laugh. Alex NEVER had a fever at home. He just had a tummy ache. We took it easy the rest of the day. Lucy and I are still trying to recover too.
She just wanted to eat her ball and play in the sunshine most of the day.
I don’t think Khaliyah minded a bit. ๐

Still Sick
Lu and I stayed home from our big church meeting today. We had a very rough night, so we needed the extra sleep. I was not expecting to miss a ward split. ๐ณ Our family is now part of the Wylie 3rd Ward. After all we went through to find a house in our boundaries, this was not expected. Lu’s poor little nose ran most of the day. All she wanted was to be held. When everyone came home from church, she perked up a little bit.
Just enough for Alex to push her around in her Minnie car. Natalie had a choir concert tonight. I wasn’t going to take Lucy but I didn’t want to disappoint Natalie. She had worked so hard. So we were a tad late. Luckily Lucy held out for the concert. Afterwards was a major meltdown.
Sick Day Off
Today I had lots to do on my schedule. It is amazing how things work in your favor. The field trip I was supposed to go on was taken over by an amazing mom at the last minute. Sam took Natalie to her Girl Scout activity. I stayed home with a sick Lucy. I have been fighting something for a while and Lucy woke up all gunky this morning, just not herself.
I was supposed to go see A Christmas Carol at the DTC with Sam’s family, but with Lucy not even taking a bottle, and sick!, there was NO way I was going to leave her with anyone. We just enjoyed cuddle time together today. I loved it.
Season of Giving
Today was a giving day. We made 8 dozen cookies last night to bring to the teachers at Davis early this morning. Sam and I had to divide and conquer because Wii was being recognized at school this morning too. He took Wii and Alex, and I took Natalie, Lucy, and the cookies. Luckily Sam captured Wii’s recognition on video. ๐
The boys did wonderful. Lucy, thankfully, stayed asleep until right when we were leaving. Otherwise, she would have been hungry and probably screaming. The residents were so happy to have the kids there. Afterwards, we went to our party.
We had treats and were revealed to our family that we “gifted.” Then, the family that had us, revealed themselves to us. It was the Anguianos! We suspected them, but weren’t for sure. Lillia was so proud of the acorns she gave us. She is such a sweet girl! Lucy really likes her too.
Very Lazy Day
How can you not love waking up to this little face!
Even if it is already 10:00! We had a rather rough night, so sleeping in felt great! Lucy and I stayed in our jammies most of the day and just enjoyed do nothing. When I finally had to wash some dishes, Lucy jumped away, and waved as we danced to Laurie Berkner. โบ๏ธ
Holiday Storytime
Today was the last storytime at the Wylie library until mid January. They had the normal baby storytime, and then invited the babies to visit another time for their holiday puppet show. One of the other baby’s moms got everyone’s information so we can get together for play dates over the holidays. Super fun! When baby storytime was over, we played at the play tables until the puppet show. Lucy does NOT want to sit much at all anymore. It sure is taking a toll on my back and neck.
She was fascinated with the puppet show. They did “I want a hippopotamus for Cristmas.”
She had her eyes glued to the show the entire time. I was so happy we didn’t have to leave early for crying this time. ๐
Picture Taking is Exhausting!
Happy 7 Months Lulu Pie!
It has been a wonderful past 7 months! I can’t say the last month has not been challenging, with teething added to the mix, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! I absolutely adore this little girl! Her smile makes my heart melt into mush. She is such a social little ham! As long as someone does not attempt to take Lucy away from me, she will smile, and talk, and sometimes scream it up to be part of the action. She loves being included in the kids’ activities. She really believes she can just get down and join them. We say Lucy is just a big kid stuck in a baby’s body. Today I had fun dressing Lucy up in a cute headband and socks that Brandi gave Lucy on Sunday night. She looked so adorable!
Even when she was mad at me for taking her picture.
Miss Big Bow wouldn’t look at me in her room though.
Lucy’s 7 Month Tidbits: She weighs an amazing 16lbs 10oz! She gained a whole pound and a half in a month! She is 27″ long. Her favorite songs are “Happy and You Know it” and “Wheels on the Bus.” She likes to wave, and is getting better at directing it to who she is waving at (instead of herself๐). She has 1 tooth, but food is not agreeing with her yet. She has crawled one length on her hands and knees, but prefers to stand and play. She HATES tummy time! She “booty scoots” to get what she wants. She has finally slept in her own crib 1 time for about an hour. All other sleep is just, well, not happening with any regularity. We’ll get there. ๐ She will still fall asleep to Piano Guys Jurassic Park. That is HER lullaby. She loves meeting the boys at the bus stop and playing with babies and balls. She also LOVES books!
Lucy Discovers Lilly
Journey to Bethlehem
Lucy was up again most of the night las night. I was so exhausted, I missed the entire first 2 hours of church. Feeling zombified is no fun. At least Lucy was a good girl during the time we were there. Natalie picked her outfit today. ๐
We made a horrific discovery as we were getting ready to leave for church however. We accidentally left the diaper bag, which contains my keys and wallet, not to mention all Lu’s diapers, at the tree farm in VAN ALSTYNE! 1 hour away! Ugh. After church I had to drive all the way out there to get it. I was so incredibly impressed how they handled the situation. The owner locked our bag in her home overnight, and when I came to get it, she personally walked it out to me and made me make sure it had everything still in it. She was so incredibly kind, and I am so grateful for that! When I got back home, we headed out for Waxahachie, to go to Bethlehem Revisited. This year we invited the Taylers to join us. We had a great time. The girls did remarkably well, given that it was probably one of the busiest years that we have been.
By the end, Lucy was not up for picture taking. We should have planned that better earlier.
