Heart Hair

We finally have hair!! Lucy’s hair is getting long enough to really do some cute things with. She is SO amazing at letting me do them too! I am so grateful that my last little girl came with a tough head and patience. Brie and Natalie would have never allowed me to do what I do with Lucy’s hair. 🤣

Now to just perfect my technique. It is truly an art to be learned.

A Little Snowy Park Day

Nothing is more exciting than to be the first person to leave tracks across newly fallen snow. Lucy has been begging to go play at the park. Of course we keep telling her that she is crazy! Well she convinced us today that it might be fun. Even though it was 28° outside, the sun made it feel much warmer. She thoroughly enjoyed playing hide and seek with us behind the rock climbing wall.Lu has really grown and gained so much confidence since we have moved to Utah. She loves to try challenging things, and go a little out of her comfort zone, if it means some sort of reward at the end. Beating her brothers is a huge motivator. (And yes, those skies are legit! The scenery here can be so breathtakingly beautiful!)After a bit, our fingers, noses, and lips did get a bit numb. It was still great to get outdoors, even if only for a little while.

Natalie’s First Cheer Competition

Natalie had her very first cheer competition tonight. I won’t go into the details of before the competition, as teenage girl-ness and hormones added together can give any mom fits, but she managed to pull it off well.Natalie had to sacrifice school cheer this year due to our move. It has been a very rough and emotional time. She also had to turn down two invitations for upper level competition cheer squads because we didn’t know our new house completion details to commit to a full year of competition cheer. It has definitely been a humbling experience for her. We found a cheer gym that would allow her to cheer on their prep team that ends mid spring. (Less of a time commitment if we move.) This squad, however, consists of experienced girls, as well as beginner little ones. 5year olds. Natalie was quite humiliated in the beginning, and threw quite a huge fit. Luckily with some time, she grew to understand that sometimes you have to be the helper, instead of everyone always helping you. She has grown a lot over the past several months. Her team won’t be stellar while she is with it, but they are hard workers and try their best to do the very best they can with what they have. I think that matters more than anything else. For this performance, they did really well. I cannot wait to see what they accomplish in a couple months for the next one.

A Pizza Kind Of Night

Dad is in Texas, so we thought we’d do a fun dinner night. We tried out a new pizza recipe from online, and it was actually quite good.Alex, Wii, and Lucy got regular dough.Mom and Natalie tried out the whole wheat dough. It was great!

Bring a Friend to Dance Day

I’ve got to say, Miss Paige sure knows how to make dance fun! She is so expressive. It’s going to be so hard to move from this class. Today was bring a friend to class day. Lucy decided to bring Eadie. The girls were so excited. No one else brought a friend, so Eadie was quite a hit. She had amazing moves too!Parents were only able to stay the last 15 mins of class, but I could tell they definitely had a blast. Lots of hopping……Chasing……and Animal Action.

Mimi’s Surprise

Lucy has completely fallen in love with playing dolls and watching YouTube videos of girls playing with doll houses online. (The big kids think they are totally weird. 🤣) Lucy LOVES them! She has been trying to fit her Barbies and Princess dolls into Brie’s old dollhouse, but it is just way too little. Since none of the kids have used their Christmas money yet, we figured Lucy might enjoy using her “Mimi Money” on a new dollhouse. Of course when we went to buy it, she fell asleep in the van. She was SO super excited when she woke up and saw this!William was so sweet to help me carry it and set it up for her. I foresee many hours of playtime fun with this.

En Pointe

Lucy LOVES to dance. If I’m sneaky enough, I can catch her at her best. Lately, Natalie and I have been laughing how much it looks like Lucy is completely standing on her toes. Not sure how she does it, but pointe shoes might not be too far in the future.

Picking Flowers

Lucy loves finding little flowers growing out of the snow in Uncle Eric’s yard. After church, Lucy took one of her exploring trips to find her purple flowers. She did manage to find a thawed part of grass under the deck which had lots. She gifted one to every person in the family. ❤️
