William has thoroughly enjoyed taking many adventures with Eric. Eric has taken him under his wing and showed/taught William SO much about the outdoors. William is loving every minute of it!
Today, they went snow fishing. The cold fingers and snow did not stop their persistence for success. And success they found!
They caught several nice trout.
Play Day at Treehouse
Lucy absolutely LOVES The Treehouse Museum. She has been begging to go back for a while. Now that everyone is FINALLY well, we made the trip for our date day.
Every time we go, there is always something new to discover. This time, we found their insects in the forest. I don’t know how I’ve missed this are the past several times we have been. It is absolutely adorable. Lucy loved examining the insects under the magnifying glasses. Of course she had to visit the doll room too. That is where we spend most of our time, and today was no exception. I hope there is something similar to this museum down south when we move.
Temple Time with Tim
Tonight, we had the wonderful opportunity of going through the temple with Tim before he leaves on his mission to the Philippines on Wednesday. We had a beautiful time together and he was able to complete the work for my dad, someone whom he loved dearly, and I know my dad felt the same way about Tim. Moments like this will never be forgotten!
Sun Rainbow Love
After her haircut, we caught this beautiful sun rainbow in the sky. We have seen some amazing acts of nature here in Utah. It truly is amazing!
After, we headed to Alex’s school for Meet he Masters. Lu is quite the helper. 😆
Hammin’ It Up at the Haircutter’s
Lucy’s hair has really started growing the past few months. We decided that is was finally time for another trim.
Her hair is still pretty sparse, but I KNOW that will not last. It is so funny how similar she has been to how Nattie was at this age. Today Lu had to have the special hair “smell” and sparkles. She even had the hairdresser give Rapunzel glitter as well.
After her hair was cut, Lucy did not want to leave. It has been super hard not to have a place to play for her at home. Since I had a bit of time to spare, I let her run through the play space for a bit.
She can be SO silly! She loves to make other people laugh. I just love her budding little personality.
She kept finding ways to surprise me, and then would crack up. So goofy!
Snow Sledding Fun
The kids have absolutely enjoyed having snow this winter! Everyone said that we were going to get sick of it. Other than getting stuck my first time driving in it, it has actually been really nice.
Lucy LOVES to go sledding, every time possible! Today, she talked William and Natalie into helping her.
They made several trips together. Then they rigged her up by herself. 😱I was NOT expecting her to go down lying down!
I panicked as she shot down the top of the hill like a bullet.
Only to see her cracking up laughing as she passed by me. (I guess the mom instinct will always be there.)
William made Lucy the cutest little “snow cake.” They had a great time playing “birthday party” until Lucy decided to take one of her exploration trips.
This kid just cracks me up. Sometimes she get in her exploration mode and she is all of a sudden a big kid, can go wherever she wants (so she thinks), and needs absolutely no help. She still has to be told that trespassing on someone else’s property is not okay, though. 😂
Lucy decided that Uncle Eric’s bush made the best snow lounger. Anytime she wanted a break from the fun, this was where she would go.
Do They Even Know Who’s Behind Them?
Natalie and Wii were playing Life, when Lucy decided she was “going to be creepy.” 😂
Ringing in the New Year with the Williams and Sharps
We had a blast starting off our new year at the Williams’ house today.
The kids played games, went sledding, and enjoyed seeing Latte (while they could handle the cold.)
Of course, everyone had a plethora of food to munch on as well.
While the kids played, the grown ups enjoyed games as well and just being in good company.
It was a wonderful day with great friends! It is SO nice to be together again!
These amazing aerial shots were taken by Mike’s drone. I am so amazed at it capabilities!
January 2019
This year, I thought I’d start something new and make one post per month, giving a brief overview of what happened with our family. Brief turned into a mile long post. So for now, I’ll just continue my posts along the way. 🙂
Growing Too Old for Nursery
Today was a happy, but sad day as well. Brie gave a beautiful homecoming talk in Sacrament Meeting. Many family members and close friends came to support her. It was so nice. Today also marked the last day of all Hardy’s in nursery. Lucy is still struggling with a cough from being sick, but she did not want to miss her last day. Even Charlie had to jump in on the picture with Brother Manning. He has been such an amazing teacher for Lucy. She has gained so much self confidence because of him. We will miss the Mannings greatly!
All this talk of being a big kid has gone right to Lucy’s head. She now thinks that she can just let herself out the door and go on her own adventures. 😳 Today the snow was just too enticing.
So grateful that she isn’t a fast runner. She was more fascinated with how the snow crunched around her feet. She is such a silly goose.
At least she knows to come in when she gets cold. 🤣
