Well, actually that is not true. Just none that are exceptional in my opinion. We have visited Padre, and feel that it is the best one, but it still doesn’t compare with a real clear blue ocean view. The kids have been begging to go to the beach, so I searched around to try and find “a beach” at one of our local lakes, since even our not so nice salt water beaches are hours away. I found this great little park in Little Elm which made the kids’ day. Lots of sunshine. No icky mud or sticks stuck in your toes. And lots of fun!
The big kids jumped right in.
Lu was a bit apprehensive at first. But once she was in, she didn’t want to leave.

William was bound and determined to “surf” on his boogie board. Didn’t quite work out as planned.
Lucy wanted to make sure NO One interfered with her water hole.

Olaf in the sand.
The kids ALL loved the park attached to the lake! Zip lines and a safe merry go round made it a winner!
The main problem with playgrounds in Texas during the summer is that the plastic equipment gets sooooo hot it can burn you really quickly.
We had to use our towels to cool things off a bit.
To wrap up our day, it was Rita’s Italian Ice for our treat.
Pretty good Italian ice. Just wish the establishment was cleaner. Their custard was not the best, but the kids still enjoyed a cool summer treat.
